Prove that Hillary is a Democrat.

You already did: Z=0

Me and calculus never got to first base.

You can't get to first base with calculus - you can only approach it in infinitely smaller steps.

Just list a series of prime numbers (1,2,3,5,7,11,13,17,19 etc.).

Euclid's proof of the infinitude of primes is a good introduction to the beauty of mathematics.

Also this: let P be any point on a circle. Lines drawn from the endpoints of a diameter line to P always make a right angle. Wonderful theorem.

Penny: Ahem. Actually, that’s not true, Leonard. In fact, recently I’ve been thinking that given the parameters of your experiment the transport of electrons through the aperture of the nano-fabricated metal rings is qualitatively no different than the experiment already conducted in the Netherlands.

[Leonard is astounded]

Penny: Their observed phase shift in the diffusing electrons inside the metal ring already conclusively demonstrated the electric analog of the Aharonov-Bohm quantum interference effect.

[Everyone is dumbfounded]

Penny: That’s it; that’s all I know. Oh, wait! Fig Newtons were named after a town in Massachusetts, not the scientist.

I am amazed that these people did all this way back when where just getting paper and ink was a chore. We use calculators to do the grunt work whereas they had to write out everything. One little mistake and they had to start over.

I wonder what they could do today with all the modern tools at their disposal?

“F=MA or Force = Mass x Acceleration. Newton was one really smart human.”

Actually, it is the SUM (Sigma) of the forces equals mass times acceleration.

And, yes, Sir Isaac was a very, very smart man.

"I forgot what a cosine is"

A cosine is the child of your parent's sibling.

Here’s a math problem I’ve been working on, just for fun. Take a shot at solving it, if you care to.

A lady (let’s call her Hillary) has been taking X number of bribes for Y number of years. She has been indicted for Z felonies.

Given that:

X > 0
Y > 0
Z = 0

Prove that Hillary is a Democrat.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

The type of problem you pose here is known as an inequality.

All people are created equal, but some more equal than others. Those people are Democrats.

Since, Hillary is more equal than others, given that:

X > 0
Y > 0
Z = 0

Therefore, Hillary must be a Democrat.

Psalm 19:1-4
1 The heavens declare the glory of God,
and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.
2Day to day pours out speech,
and night to night reveals knowledge.
3There is no speech, nor are there words,
      whose voice is not heard.
4Their voice goes out through all the earth,
and their words to the end of the world.

........

“What though in solemn silence all

Move round this dark terrestrial ball,

What though no real voice or sound

Amidst their radiant orbs be found?

In reason’s ear they all rejoice

And utter forth a glorious voice,

For ever singing as they shine

The hand that made us is Divine.”

Newton invented calculus while on leave from school, the school having closed because of plague fears. He was “on vacation “ for 2 years and it was during this break that he knocked out calculus. And then he failed to tell anyone about it. Years later a colleague visiting Newton complained about the inability to describe orbits mathematically and Newton said something like, “oh I’ve got something for that”, dug around in his piles of papers, pulled out his Calculus and handed it over to his amazed colleague.

And, one more thing about the Amazing Isaac Newton:

All his scientific works, including Principia Mathematica considered by many as the greatest single scientific work in history, took up less than 50% of his time and was considered by himself to be less important than his bible studies, which took up more than half his time, studies devoted to opposing the Trinity. He also devoted considerable time to alchemy.

Bottom line: the total time he spent being the greatest physicist who ever lived (at least until Einstein) was less than half his work-time on earth.
