'Supergirl' Pilot Leak: Theft Or CBS Marketing Ploy?
Forbes ^ | May 22, 2015

Following the release of what became the most watched trailer of this past month’s upfronts, CBS CBS -0.36% was running on a major high to the fact that it may have finally grasped the millennial market in a way it’s typically not known for thanks to the help of Supergirl. Unfortunately, that excitement may now be short lived as many fans awoke this morning to find the pilot of the series had leaked online through a variety torrent sites in a high-def, 1080p format. However, the high quality nature of the file is making some question the validity of the leak itself. Is it actually possible Warner Bros. (the show’s producing studio) and CBS (who declined to comment on the matter) put the pilot out themselves in order to get people talking this early?

Same thing happened with ‘The Flash’...saw it months before it debuted on CW...’Flash’ got lots of good press in the fan community; Supergirl? Not so much.

I was hoping they would evolve her costume into a more armored look.

The founder of media conglomerate CatCo Cat Grant named her. she is portrayed by Calista Flockhart. Cat said she herself is a girl.

Yup, noticed that in the trailer too.

Guessing that the ONLY way they can comfortably "explain" the Supergirl monicker is that it was a very cynical marketing decision made by a Devil Wears Prada-type female executive.

When I was a child, comic books were regarded as entertainment for children. How is it that Gen X adults now regard them as appropriate for adults? Baffling and nauseating.

My youngest son now 24 used to read graphic novels all the time...when he was a teen...

I'd ask him "what are you reading"

His answer: "a book"

I'd look at it and comment: "books don't have drawings and word bubbles, comics do. That's not a book"

Used to piss him off...LOL...

The only modern era WW I ever saw were those pretty good Justice League cartoons of a few years ago.

There is always the horrid and ultra badly made Cathy Lee Crosby version.

“I like the muted, modest, retro, nostalgic super-outfit.”

So different from the other brash, loud, outfits in the other CGI-Heavy superhero movies.

Check out The Watchmen”. Definitely not for kids.
I’m actually spending this weekend at a comic con and it’s terrific! Just picked up some original art by James OBarr.
