President Barack Obama said at a Democratic National Committee fundraiser in Portland, Ore., yesterday that he is “not a scientist,” but that: “I can understand science.”

Obama made the remark as he talked about his agenda for fighting global warming.

“That’s why we’re taking actions through the EPA to make sure that we cut carbon pollution that’s produced from power plants,” he said. “It’s the right thing to do.” …

If you understood the Scientific Method, then you would know that there is no such thing as "settled science", and every scientific paper and theorist is HAPPY to have others review it, contest, it, argue against it etc... if it is correct, then all of those challenges will fail. If it is not correct, then a true scientist will want it to fail.

Attacking opponents, silencing opponents, declaring debates to be a waste of time, etc... that is not Science. That is bullying. That is authoritarianism. That is falsehood. It is not Science.
