It is just a better mousetrap that Android produced, what 3 years ago?

Apple’s latest offerings are just better versions of existing technology — others’.

Announcer: Someday, everyone will own a watch like this. Now, it is available only for the privileged few. The Mogasaki Corproration of Tokyo is honored to announce... Kromega III. [ lightning strikes ] A watch so complex, it takes two people to make it work. One hand wears the watch. The other hand presses the buttons that activate the 100% solid state multi-function digital quartz crystal micro-computer unit. And now, you're ready for the third hand to trigger the light-luminating dial to give you an alphanumeric readout accurate to within 9 a year. It's that simple.

KROMEGA III. Command-crafted in impact-resistant crushed chrome. It's no wonder that professional skiiers prefer Kromega III over any ordinary timepiece.

[ Woman's arm is shown with Lady Kromega III on her wrist ]

Woman's Voice: And I love Lady Kromega III. The sleek, space-age styling compliments any outfit. [ Woman's other hand presses one of the buttons ] And the clearly displayed perpetual calendar helps me to remember my many appointments. Would you mind? [ other person brings in a spare hand to operate the Lady Kromega III ] Thank you.

Announcer: Kromega III. It's like asking a stranger for the time.

Omega and Rolex will remain sponsors of sport events.

I love a good timepiece.

The handwork and exactitude are of such nicety and Apple can’t ever compete.

It’s an Iphone on the wrist and not something to trust your life with.

Still an amazing bit of tech.

Maybe they need to make a solar iWatch like the Citizen Eco-Drive. Love those....

Just like the first iPhone model is nowhere to be found, I’m sure that you won’t be able to find the first Apple Watch model in a few years.

I do not like anything on my hands. Not watches, not rings, not bracelets. iWatch is not for me.

Kind of a silly article. The iPhone is only marginally a timepiece, just as a smartphone is not really a phone.

They’re both portable computers with infinite functions. Two of which are making phone calls and telling time.

Others that I regularly use mine for: timer, stopwatch, compass, psychrometric calculator, boombox, alarm clock, camera, voice recorder, GPS. Among many others, each of which I used to need a separate device for.

I suspect the watch, or something like it, will eventually take off. The separate phone, especially in the larger sizes, is just too awkward.

The iWatch isn’t a time piece.

So... What’s his point?that it can’t be recharged in minutes?

Funny, no mention that it’s accurate to GMT within 50ms AND time zone & DST within feet.

It’s a gadget that can also tell you what time it is.

I hate to say it, and I’m a guy who has multiple iPhones, several Macs and a brand new Macbook Air, but the Apple Watch is at this point just a celebration of rampant consumerism.

What really got me was a black stainless steel Apple watch for $1100. Seriously, that is absurd. The basic Macbook Pro is $1099, and it will be useful for many more years than a first-generation Apple watch.
