The carcass of a dead sperm whale that washed up on a beach in Pacifica was tagged with graffiti bearing the name of a local Bay Area gang.
The graffiti, which spelled out "East Bay Rats Motorcycle Club" in what appeared to be white spray paint, was erased by Wednesday's high tide along the Sharp Park State Beach south of San Francisco.
But photos posted online showed the graffiti scrawled across the whale's body. Several visitors to the beach told NBC Bay Area they deplored the action, with one visitor saying the whale's body should have been left to rest in peace. Efforts to reach the East Bay Motorcycle Club for comment were unsuccessful.
A dead whale that washed ashore on Pacifica beach was defaced with graffiti.
The 50-foot whale washed up on Tuesday.
Marine experts still dont know how it died. Early indications show no signs of a ship strike, broken bones or a blunt force trauma.
Biologists are still trying to determine what they will do with the carcass. They may bury it on the beach or drag it back out to sea.
A spokeswoman for the Marine Mammal Center, whose veterinarian and marine biologists performed a necropsy on the whale, told The Associated Press that 17 dead sperm whales have washed up on California's northern coast in the 40 years since they have dealt with such cases.
Necropsy results are expected in a couple of weeks.
“They are as a group the best of people.”
I got that sense! Im in San Anselmo and have lived all over the Bay Area with the exception of the South Bay!
Boogieman
If that had been written, they’d be idolizing the carcass and Hitlery would be claiming it as a campaign write-off.
Around here ..here being my chunk of Northern California,...they do that from the right lane anytime ..they want to
Thanks.

I can think of nothing more stressful than having to deal with that every second of every day.
Many years ago I read a short story about what happened after a West Coast hurricane hit. When it faded away, there was a drowned man lying on the beach.
He was 50 foot tall. No one knew where he came from but there he was.
The story tells what happened to him over time as he was studied, dismembered and processed for dog food. Soon only a rib or two were left and people years later thought it was just the bones of a beached whale.
On an Electric Bicycle...I have very nearly been DOORED five times in the last year. My DIsc Brakes are some of my most trusted and best friends !
Make them clean it up.
It is common practice here, when we depart, to caution the other riders “Drive safe”.
I always add “Drive paranoid”.
It’s getting worse.
For the first few years, I had no close calls.
Now, every summer brings several in which I have to quickly, fully engage my Wilwood disc brakes.
At the risk of sounding like a paid spokesmander, Wilwood rocks.
“was erased by Wednesday’s high tide”
Already gone.
Why assume the MC did it?
Lots of people tag “Red & White 4Ever” and they’re not HAs.
May be they can explode it.....
A friend suggested that, so I said “Right. Let’s go to the film”.
Showed the whale explosion and that idea vaporized.
I was surprised no one was hurt.
ROTFLMAO
You haven't changed in a million years, Salamander. heh heh
;D
Good tie-in.
The SFMC is an old school group of riders.
There is more history on the wall of their clubhouse than the Smithsonian. Well maybe not.
Cruzier, Supermotard, Squid or scooter they are a very fine group of folks.
And they represent.
Honored to ride with them.
I wouldnt be surprised if the dopes who actually tagged the whale... are bragging about it somewhere as we “speak” .
They may have even boasted about it on fazedbook.
Thanks!
