Tom Brady Snubs President Obama as Super Bowl-Winning Patriots Visit White House

The New England Patriots are visiting the White House today to receive congratulations from the president for their Super Bowl XLIX championship.

But the team's victory lap in the nation's capital will come without their biggest star. Quarterback Tom Brady is snubbing President Barack Obama and won't be there. A spokesman for the team cited 'prior family commitments' as the reason Brady, 37, can't go.

The superstar athlete has been to the White House before. He does have three other Super Bowl rings, afterall.

But all the prior championships were under the Bush Administration. February's win was the first for the Patriots since Obama took office.

Brady has also met Obama at least once before, as well. He was pictured with the then-US Senator at the 2005 White House Correspondents dinner.

It's not clear what Brady's prior commitment was. His supermodel wife Gisele Bündchen, usually active on social media, gives no hint where the family is today if not in Washington.

Brady led the Patriots to his fourth Super Bowl victory in February after defeating the Seattle Seahawks 28-24. Despite his arm and movement being somewhat diminished by age, Brady's leadership and calm under pressure also won him Super Bowl MVP - his third.

Whatever is taking up Brady's time this week, he made time next week to be ringside at the Floyd Mayweather Jr.-Manny Pacquiao fight in Las Vegas next weekend. According to Sport Illustrated, Brady appealed directly to CBS president Les Moonves for tickets to the much-touted matchup.

Perhaps he is simply using good judgement? He has been to the White House and met Presidents before.

Perhaps he quietly feels he would be unable to control his anger at Mr. Obama and decided it was better to stay home than make a scene.

If the President of the United States were to ask any American to come to the White House for recognition, it would have to take one of two reasons to decline: a very close friend or relative is dying and needs us, or the particular President is unworthy of any respect. Any other event can be rescheduled. As far as anyone can tell, no one near Mr. Brady is dying.

It could be trash night where he lives, which means he needs to change the cat's litter box. That's more important (or more exciting at least) than meeting with Obama.

No love for the Cheatriots here. But, if Tom Brady actually did this to snub O’Bastard, I like it.

Personally, if I had a chance to meet Barry Soetoro, I’d welcome the opportunity to give him a piece of my mind. But, unlike Brady, I could do that without p*ssing off any fans. :)

Most likely it’s that Brady did not appreciate Josh Earnest’s quip about deflategate -

“I mean, the one thing I can tell you is that for years, it’s been clear that there is no risk that I was going to take Tom Brady’s job as quarterback of the New England Patriots,” Earnest said. “But I can tell you that as of today, it’s pretty clear that there’s no risk of him taking my job either.”

And then Dear Leader’s press secretary humbled himself before his sycophant press corps by mentioning how proud he was of thinking of that retort all by himself.

They are all arrogant scum.

Maybe Mr. Brady had to wash his hair and was too classy to mention reason #2.

As a Bills fan, I naturally HATE Tom Brady, but I may have to reconsider my position a bit...

LOL Me too. Bills season ticket holder since 1973. Now if only Belichik would stand behind the Liar In Chief and form the V sign... maybe, just maybe I could change my mind on him too...:-)

I sure as heck would not go. This event is how Obama gloms onto the Patriots winning aura. I would not be there helping him out. Plus Tom Brady can spend some more quality time with his super model wife

Maybe Brady we’ll pull a Jack Kemp and get into politics, I know he has a pretty or golden boy image but this was a good thing.
