The New York Police Department detective filmed unleashing a xenophobic rant on an Uber driver this week has been identified as a member of the FBI's top-secret Joint Terrorism Task Forces (JTTF) — an elite, multi-agency team headquartered in New York. The officer is now facing suspension after the video of him mocking the driver's accent and screaming obscenities at him went viral this week.

Ah, cut the poor FBI guy a break, he’s likely cycling his Steroids right now and if he doesn’t get his roid on he can’t sleep at night.

The fact is the good cops know about the bad cops and generally don’t do anything about it unless embarassed enough with hard evidence that cannot be ignored with zero response.

The problem with the so-called ‘good cop majority’ is that they consistently cover for the so-called ‘bad cop minority’.

And in doing so they are all become bad cops.

Want proof? Ask a cop if covering up for someone after they commit a crime is itself a crime?

They’ll tell you it is.

Then ask why so many cops do just that when the criminal is a fellow cop.

Be sure to get your requisite beating and tasing on video for the lawsuit.

“Elite”

No way.

At least I certainly hope this is not our “elite”

Not so "top-secret" any more. Part of the job is to stay low-profile, not attract undue attention. That dummy needs to be gone.

“The problem with the so-called ‘good cop majority’ is that they consistently cover for the so-called ‘bad cop minority’.”

Not to mention all their friends and relatives who cheer on this activity and assume that cops always tell the truth and are never guilty of a crime.

The kind for whom if you’re not a cop and you complain about the bad cops, then you’ve got something to hide and must be a criminal.

The vitriol against Uber is incredible!

What is their problem??

(Rhetorical- I know what it is]

USE THIS TO SHOW YOUR DEMOCRAT VOTING FRIENDS what the liberal leaders in charge really are like- not your hard core mental case friends, just the one who have been taught republicans bad, democrats good (ask them if this kind of hate for a new business idea is ‘good’ )

That dummy needs to be gone.

How about rounding up all these pumped up steroid warriors and plopping them down against the ISIS clan. That would be heroic.

He’s not an FBI agent. He’s an NYPD detective serving on a
“multi-agency FBI task force”.

His comments - apart from the sense of entitlement and the xenophobia that the media has already fully recognized and run with - reveal something else: that he does his job according to the priorities of his convenience (I would arrest you but I've got other stuff I'd rather do) as opposed to the priorities of the public.

The guy he was yelling at was lucky he did not get killed.

Small chance of that happening, with a normal taxpayer in the back seat as a front row witness.

He doesn’t carry traffic tickets with him. No one on the task force does. He just sat in his car and wasted some time, then returned the license.

It’s easy to get disgusted driving in NYC with the vast majority of third world taxi drivers who have very little experience and are the most inconsiderate drivers around. The cop berated him and gave the guy a break, big deal.

A detective in an unmarked car wouldn't have tickets.

If the detective (Patrick Cherry of Sayville, Long Island) had a legitimate reason to pull the guy over, he would have radioed a patrol cruiser to ticket him. But he knew he had no grounds.

His union reps are saying that he was emotional because a coworker of his is in the hospital after having a complication following elbow surgery, and actually said "cops have feelings too."

I highly doubt that if a citizen accosted a police officer in the street, yelled at him, told him not to interrupt, and questioned him as to his provenance etc. that this citizen would be able to beg off with "I'm feeling emotional about something completely unrelated."

I'm sorry your boyfriend is sick, Patrick. Don't take it out on the rest of us.
