Starbucks CEO: No Tolerance for Traditional Marriage Supporters
The Examiner ^ | 3/23/15 | Victor Medina

Posted on 03/24/2015 6:17:13 AM PDT by jonatron

At the Starbucks annual shareholders meeting on Wednesday, CEO Howard Schultz sent a clear message to anyone who supports traditional marriage over gay marriage: we don't want your business. After saying Starbucks wants to "embrace diversity of all kinds," he told a shareholder who supports traditional marriage that he should sell his shares and invest in some other company.

According to a report by Forbes, Schultz seemed a bit intolerant of any Starbucks shareholders who opposed gay marriage for moral or religious reasons. During the meeting, shareholder Tom Strobhar (who founded the Corporate Morality Action Center) pointed out that after the company voiced its support for a referendum backing gay marriage in Washington state, a boycott by traditional marriage supporters caused a drop in sales revenue.

Schultz told him "You can sell your shares in Starbucks and buy shares in another company" if he did not agree with the company's pro-gay marriage stand.

I wouldn't purchase any of their overpriced, substandard coffee drinks even if these losers weren't pushing the homo/lesbian agenda. But their stand for perversion gives me even more reason not to engage with their “baristas”.

At least Starbucks doesn’t have the legal ability to use deadly force to punish people who are real marriage supporters.

That’s why libs want the gov’t involved. It thrills them to no end to see Christians punished for being Christians.

I buy Starbucks French Roast at Costco - but this has done it for me. I can find a substitute to Starbucks.

Three pounds a month goes to another business.

"I can't boycott Starbucks because I never buy their swill coffee. It taste absolutely awful. "

You wouldn't want to be drinking out of those cups anyway when you consider who's been sucking on the rim and what they were sucking on before that.

Sometimes business is just too good. These guys need to be Dixie Chicked.

I’ve never drank a cup of coffee in my life so I can’t buy it somewhere else but I have bought tea in Starbucks so no more of that.

If I didn’t know any better I’d say they are trying to run their business into the ground..................

Maybe you're onto something. The progressives at Starbucks may be suffering from a deeply-seated psychological guilt-complex for being too corporate, too successful and part of the 1%

This article is two years old. Why it is being presented as if this is new news?

There are consequences for being stupid and the Starbucks CEO will now reap what he sowed when traditionally married couples stop buying the overpriced, overhyped slurry called Starbucks coffee. I would NEVER purchase a drop of their product and the best way to hit back is to stop buying their any of their products and boycott them entirely. The American (conservatives) know they can get good coffee from other vendors than Starbucks and need to do just that.

I wish I had some SB shares to sell.

Wow...talk about the quick destruction of a company. He needs to talk to the ex-CEO of JC Penney. Maybe One Million Moms will boycott SB.

Hmmmm, now who do you suppose makes up the bigger percentage of this idiot’s customers? Heterosexuals or gays? Since the overall population percentage of gays is extremely low, I’m guessing this guy could just put Starbucks out of business with his anti hetero policy!

They recently put a Starbuck’s in at my local VA Hospital.

I will not buy anything from them and will tell anyone who listens not to.

This looks like something I can print up and put out around their tables.

On the sly of course because the current VA Administration doesn’t like conservative thought.

“CEO Howard Schultz sent a clear message to anyone who supports traditional marriage over gay marriage: we don’t want your business.”

And when will colleges refuse Starbucks on campus due to this hate filled bigotry? Starbucks needs the treatment that Chik-fil-a got for, the owner quietly supporting Christian values/issues.
