Who said anything about changing anything? Not me. Once again you’re desperate for a flame war you’re not gonna get.

If you don’t ask common sense questions you can’t get common sense replies.

If you don’t ask common sense questions you can’t get common sense replies.

When you are in a discussion in which people think congress can modify the meaning of "natural born citizen" whenever they feel like it, you are already outside the realm of common sense.

The only people that modified anything are the birthers. Sorry but the birther arguments have made exactly zero sense and been largely comedic for 7 odd years now. You have a convoluted definition of NBC that doesn’t match any legal definition ever used, and frankly isn’t even internally consistent. Birthers are outside the realm of common sense, which is why they ask questions that can’t be answered with common sense. Bye.

All you've said here is that the arguments are over your head and you don't actually understand them; That you'd prefer to rely on the opinions of people who gave us Roe v Wade, Kelo, Wickard, and who are about to give us state sanctioned "gay" marriage, rather than think for yourself.

For one thing, because his 18 year old mother was not eligible to confer American citizenship to her son.

No, there’s a perfectly reasonable explanation, if you’d only educated yourself about it.

Misinformed, wrong, just casting stones from a position of ignorance.

Oh I see. You only accept as honest those that are misinformed like yourself. (willfully misinformed?)

Yeah, he was born in Kenya (according to him) until he ran for president, then it was oh no, I was born in Hawaii, of COURSE. Won’t release his birth certificate, but we’re to just trust the congenital liar.

I believe he was born in Kenya. So he claimed, until he ran for president.

No, she was 18, but still too young to confer citizenship on Obambi according to the laws in effect at the time.

It’s been explained here several times, somewhat accurately. I’ve got a really good idea. Why don’t you go LOOK UP the citizenship laws in 1960 your own self?!! Wow, what a wonderful idea......unless you have some other agenda than the truth.

Maybe he was, maybe he wasn’t. He certainly claimed he was born in Kenya until he ran for president, when it mattered that he should be born in the U.S. And that’s a fact.

So in your opinion is Cruz a natural born citizen or a statutory citizen?

People keep arguing this point, but it seems to be fairly well settled that if you obtained your citizenship by virtue of your birth, you are a "natural born" citizen. That can be as a result of where you were born (in the US) or who your parents were (US citizens). It does not have to be both.

If your citizenship had to be bestowed on you by an act of law, you are a naturalized citizen.
