Aside from that, I was considering buying the new Macbook for my wife, but the single port is of concern to me. Do you know if it will come with the AC adapter and USB-C cable? Because otherwise, that's another $79 or so. And the USB-C multi-port adapter is another $79. I wish Apple would bundle these together with the new Macbook for those of us with numerous peripherals. I might opt for the new Macbook Retina laptops instead, just for this reason.

The short answer is "I don't know." We will have to wait and see when it ships.

We’re in the mountains of Calif (Also RED country in a dumb ass Blue State) and no Apple Stores around. Your orig comment to me has now got her stirred up to go for a trade in or upgrade. They really botched the service and warranty on this unit as she’s spent less time using it then on the help line) surprised she missed the New Mac Book coming out as she’s a tech junkie...even taught tech at the University in Sacramento a few years back.....slipping in our old age. Thanks for the reply. Good luck in Penn

Which Mountains? There are Apple stores in Roseville, Sacramento, and Modesto. . . close to RED country. ;^) . . . and Modesto is red.

I found an answer. According to an article at Techtimes.com, the new $1299 Macbook comes bundled with a 29W USB-C charger adapter and a two-meter USB-C Charge Cable, which has two USB-C connectors on both ends and supports USB 2 for syncing and transferring data between two USB-C devices. Each costs $29 to replace, if necessary. A USB-C to older USB adapter costs $19 (supports USB 3.1 Gen 1).

So if I were to buy the new Macbook, it will only cost me $19 more to connect other USB devices (already have cheap USB hubs). Still need to find out about lightning and firewire connects.

Thanks for the research, roadcat. LOL! Your name gets corrected by spellcheck to "redact'. I am going to take the liberty of cross posting your info to another thread just started on the subject of the single port.

Ah, HangTown. I had a second cousin who lived in Camino. He left me a Winchester 1873 Rifle with a double set trigger and a 28" barrel when he died about 45 years ago. I went up to Camino about six months ago to buy a holster for my newly acquired 7 1/2" Colt Single Action.

You're not too far from the Apple Store in the Galleria in Roseville. Next time you have so much trouble with an Apple problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar in the Galleria. They can swap out a electronically defective product in twenty minutes. . . or they will fix it while you wait. . . and they never make you wait long. You can hop up on 49 and then down 80. The Apple store is not too far off the freeway.
