Homelessness is a primary driver for LGBTQ teens turning to survival sex, according to the report. It cites national statistics showing that as many as 50 percent of homeless or runaway youth trade sex for shelter or for money to provide shelter for themselves, and that 48 percent of transgender people involved in sex work overall also report experiencing homelessness. A 2007 study of LGBTQ teens in New York revealed that LGBTQ youth were seven times more likely to have traded sex for shelter than heterosexual teens, and that transgender teens were eight times more likely.
Researchers also found that more than half of the respondents (54 percent) used any earnings from survival sex to buy food first. While conducting interviews for the study, Dank recalls how often the research team ordered pizza for the subjects. "I can't tell you how many of them had not eaten in more than 24 hours," she says. "They were weak. They didn't have a dollar for a slice of pizza."
One of the study's participants, a 21-year-old black, gay male, explained plainly how he first became involved survival-sex trading:
I don’t remember it that vividly, all I know is just that I was starving. …My friend was like, “come to the stroll trust me, you'll get somebody.” I was hungry, I was cold, so I did it.

A lot of people who are involved in prostitution and other sex trades were people who experienced sexual abuse and severe neglect. This is true for plenty of the general sex trade population, I believe that it’s true for much of those mentioned here.
Unfortunately many of them don’t think there is a problem with it. They go on about rape and stuff like they care and about minorities being shot but they don’t really give a damn beyond the political advantage to them. No I don’t expect them too but they should be held to account for their hypocrisy.
I’m certain many who come out are just faking it for fame. Even though I have some lgbt who I care for deeply as friends there is no denying the sub culture that allows and tolerates the most depraved behavior that is integral to lgbt community. The sexual view put forth in lgbt activism is hedonism and the way they insist their identity is totally defined by their sexual indulgence is just depravity.
I believe most just want to exercise power over others.
Oddly enough, I was watching some interviews today with Wil Wheaton talking about his experience with filming Stand By Me. In the related videos was an interview with Corey Feldman, where he said the exact same thing... that pedophilia is rampant in Hollywood and there is a casting couch of sorts... and gays in power in the industry abusing young boy actors.
Corey claimed that he was molested... and went on to claim that his friend Corey Haim's demise was ultimately a matter of being unable to cope with being similarly abused by pedophiles.
