Homelessness is a primary driver for LGBTQ teens turning to survival sex, according to the report. It cites national statistics showing that as many as 50 percent of homeless or runaway youth trade sex for shelter or for money to provide shelter for themselves, and that 48 percent of transgender people involved in sex work overall also report experiencing homelessness. A 2007 study of LGBTQ teens in New York revealed that LGBTQ youth were seven times more likely to have traded sex for shelter than heterosexual teens, and that transgender teens were eight times more likely.
Researchers also found that more than half of the respondents (54 percent) used any earnings from survival sex to buy food first. While conducting interviews for the study, Dank recalls how often the research team ordered pizza for the subjects. "I can't tell you how many of them had not eaten in more than 24 hours," she says. "They were weak. They didn't have a dollar for a slice of pizza."
One of the study's participants, a 21-year-old black, gay male, explained plainly how he first became involved survival-sex trading:
I don’t remember it that vividly, all I know is just that I was starving. …My friend was like, “come to the stroll trust me, you'll get somebody.” I was hungry, I was cold, so I did it.

My father worked around VA psychiatric wards for years. He often told me the majority of psych doctors he met struck him as going into the field to figure out what was wrong with themselves. What you say bears that out nicely.

I suspect the parents are pro choice/pro abortion and think that The Bible has no place in the classroom/public square etc
its interesting how psycologists and psychiatrists don’t look at the numbers of kids that are bi and gay doing sex work and don’t see the unhealthy correlation pointing to homosexuality as basically being unhealthy to the psyche of the kids caught up in it. I am not saying that all gays are gay because of sexual abuse but I think that for a good percentage it is and that is the group that ends up in the sex industry.

Life is hard for everyone.
There is an LGBT sub culture that turns a blind eye to this child/teen abuse and often encourages it.. Many of these kids are abused runaways but its not just kids on the street. Hollywood is has many stories of teen sex abuse and all those “feel your pain” left wingers don’t do or say a damn thing.
One reason a lot of actors are gay is because there is a gay “Casting Couch”, and “turning gay” in many cases becomes a coping mechanism to rationalize the abuse, as if it’s what they really wanted in the first place.
Women, minorities, and LGBTQ hardest hit.
Of course they do, they just do it at home with their libtard parents approval...
What’s the matter with, I don’t know, maybe, a JOB?
So perversion and prostitution go together? And government funds were spent to figure this out? It’s hard to figure out all the mental disorders among the studied, the studiers and the funders in this story.
How do gays using sex for money differ from any other prostitutes?
They are trying, once again, to carve themselves out as “special victims.”
