BUFFALO, N.Y. – An excruciatingly cold and unseasonably snowy February is coming to an end, and when western New York leaves it behind, it will be leaving behind the shattered remains of some century old or more records.

February of 2015 wasn’t just cold, it was arctic cold. Zero days have been above freezing. That has led to an incredibly high amount of damage from water main breaks to accidents from slippery cold, and it’s also created a risk of future damage. Without reaching temperatures which would allow a temporary thaw, snow has piled up in some places to incredible amounts.

In the record books, February in Buffalo will be mentioned for years to come, and if records hold as long as some of the shattered records remained in place, then it could be talked about for centuries.

1.The most important record broken firmly names February as the coldest month in Buffalo’s history. The average temperature each day was about 11 degrees. The second coldest year prior was in 1934

But they will later on claim 2015 was the ‘warmest year ever”. Just watch.
You can bet on it.

From the NYC blizzard of 1947. I remember my Grandmother telling us that a few months later NY had one of the hottest summers on record. But the scientists at that time attributed it to a strange phenomenon called....wait for it.... CHANGING SEASONS.

I am forever grateful to whoever invented air conditioning.

Yes, the first air conditioned car I ever rode in was my uncle's 1970 Coupe deVille, and we wondered how we made do without AC all those years.

Is that a recent photo? The colors are brilliant, and the car looks pristine. I know someone who bought a 2015 CRV with that color, so I guess is still in style.

There is no way in hell I could parallel park that thing. Not if my life depended on it!

And of course you have at least one idiot in the comments section trying to tie it to “climate change”.

The climate IS changing. Right now it's getting colder. It goes up and down, up and down, and there are smaller cycles within larger cycles. Does man influence climate? Absolutely - on a local level. If you build a lot of parking lots you'll have hotter temps in that locality. In areas where forests have re-taken over all the farmland that existed there a century ago, it's generally cooler. Over all? Not much at all. Mankind's contribution is but a fart in a hurricane.

Hey, it’s winter, and it’s really hot in Australia.

It's a stock photo, my uncle's Cad was the same color. My 64 Impala, as big as it is, is a like golf cart compared to that beast ;)

You don’t park a beauty like that unless it is in your garage.

2 weeks back, on a day it was negative 28° F in the morning here in NW Pennsylvania, I was on the way home from the office and Hannity's radio show was at a hard break for the ABC national news update. They ran a story on how Pheonix Arizona is having the WARMEST winter on record or some claptrap...

IT'S THE F***ING DESERT!!

Sorry, Pennsylvania is not supposed to be -26, -33, -28, multiple times -18... I lost track how many cords of wood I have blown through... it's ugly. The creek running through my land has been frozen over for 2 months... there has been snow on the ground for about that long, it seems...

ENOUGH!

I just could not believe how ridiculous it was that the network would STILL have to follow the global warming narrative, regardless of how brutally cold this winter has been.

Look on the bright side. It’s gotta be even colder in Canada.

Looking outside and I see: Congrats, you win MORE snow!
Lovely.
