ESPN on Tuesday suspended Keith Olbermann for the remainder of the week after he made insulting comments about Penn State students on Twitter.
According to multiple reports, a Penn State alum tweeted to Olbermann the phrase "We Are!" and a link to an article about students raising more than $13 million to fight pediatric cancer. Olbermann replied "...Pitiful."
Penn State students and alum rallied on Twitter and pressed Olbermann, who refused to back down, saying he was referring to Penn State students in general and not the fundraising.
On Tuesday, ESPN said in a statement that "it was completely inappropriate and does not reflect the views of ESPN. We have discussed it with Keith, who recognizes he was wrong."
Olbermann also apologized on Twitter, saying, "I was stupid and childish and way less mature than the students there who did such a great fundraising job."
I doubt the man ever took part in any physical activity. Cried at Dodgeball! Besides, Having the build of Michelin Man as in vitro sired by the Pillsbury Dough Boy out of Rosie O'Donnell does not for credibility make in the world'o'sports.
So recognizing this, the networks make him a Far Loonie Left news guy? "Splain that one to me. The man knows nothing.
Suspend him? They should hang him. Or let me.
Childish is right. He still pisses his pants in public.
Hey, Olbermann—can’t you afford Depends?
It's like he has a pathological need to insult others no matter how small or petty the disagreement.
I think he’s already burned that bridge. IOW, he’s not as dumb as he looks.
Years of drug abuse. Maybe syphilis. His brain is a rotten slice of swiss cheese.
I see Uberdouche is back is form
Keith Olbermann does not drive a car... he has others drive him around and their are stories about how rude he is to the drivers.
I see Uberdouche is back in form.....
Dam this site need an edit button so I can correct my typos
In other words....he's a typical leftist.
Why the past tense? That makes it sounds like his stupidity, childishness, and immaturity is a momentary affliction. It is a correct statement if he uses present tense and barring a divine miracle, if he uses future tense as well.
Over here.
Gee when your life is all about you, it’s hard to congratulate others I guess............
My son was one of the Thon dancers. He and his small student-run group raised more than $15K. They spent hours in front of small store for hours on end with signs and cans. The small change added up. The year-long endeavor that culminated in the 46 hour dance marathon (no sitting from Friday through Sunday at 4PM) raised over 13 million dollars. They have raised over 125 million dollars since the event began. All of the money goes to support kids and families stricken by pediatric cancer. They even built a wing on the Hersey Medical Center for the kids. The stories of the families whose hearts and lives were changed for the better by these students is unimaginable. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, take a peak at www.thon.org. These are young adults helping their fellow human beings without the help or interference of the government. People like Olbermann would of course attack it. Government programs do a far better job in the eyes of the likes of this media-whore than individuals. My son will graduate as an actuary this spring. I could not be more proud of him. He has gotten a great education and learned a bit about true compassion, something Olbermann clearly lacks. Penn State is more than football. As Coach Franklin said while addressing the 15,000 people in the Bryce Jordan Center on Sunday afternoon, “If you want to talk about culture at Penn State, look around. This is culture”.
Thanks folkquest. And thanks to your son. You must be very proud!
He should have just stopped there. Explains his entire life.
