The Department of Justice will request a stay by Monday on a federal judge’s decision temporarily halting President Obama’s executive action to shield up to 5 million illegal immigrants from deportation, according to the White House.
White House press secretary Josh Earnest said Friday that the Justice Department has “made a decision to file a stay in this case.”
“I would anticipate that they will file documents at the district court level on Monday at the latest,” Obama’s top spokesman told reporters.
If granted the stay, the White House program to offer additional deportation relief, announced after the November midterm elections, would proceed as planned.
Separately, the Obama administration will file a broader appeal with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit in New Orleans over U.S. District Judge Andrew Hanen's ruling halting Obama’s unilateral action.

Just as a side observation, of all the high ranking Nazis, Eric Holder reminds me of Heinrich Himmler the most, minus the glasses. A somewhat unassuming physical appearance, that of say a school headmaster, or maybe a businessman, but lurking inside is an evil that would send millions to their deaths as a mere ‘administrative action’. Both got started in street agitprop and demonstrations.
The O Administration really didn't want to challenge the 'Stay', but they got pushed on by all these Immigration Lawyers that were looking at having a field day, not to mention those that had contracts to do the paperwork.
Now all that is on hold (ouch !!! - "Honey can you return that new BMW? Not sure I'm gonna have the contacts I was hoping to have this Spring ...)
Gawd, reading through lines of some of these Amnesty groups, there is fear and anger - he promised soooo much ... he could have done it last summer like he promised ....
And now the RATs and Hillary, gotta be thinking, this better not be a 2016 campaign issue ...

The Judge made a ruling and it was ignored
as is the US Constitution, and every other
law requiring EQUAL JUSTICE FOR ALL(RIP).

How does the Justice Department have standing to challenge a ruling by the courts that Obama acted in violation of U.S. law? Obama might try to challenge it, but the Justice Department is supposed to uphold the law.

The Justice Department IS the President’s lawyer when he’s acting officially under normal circumstances.
But why!?
Doesn’t the federal tyranny want to find out if the activity it is engaging in is legal BEFORE it engages in it?
Because to do otherwise would suggest that the federal tyranny does not care if it is engaging in illegal activity, and that would just be to outrageous to even possibly be true.

Seriously though, great question. But why is some dude/dudette on FR asking the pertinent questions? Not a single soul (assuming they have one) in the “media” thought to ponder that question you raised?
Well, truth his something that really matters to me. It’s truly one of the only thing that matters in this world.
Sadly, I don’t think that truth matters to a great many people in this country and the world even. It’s like people have become obsessed with lies, and lying to others and lying to themselves.
I don’t know if it’s because they do not want to know the actual truth, or they do no want others to know the actual truth, but I do know that they want the truth hidden at all costs, and so they do not ever ask questions that would illuminate the truth.
There are a lot of questions that should be asked in this country that are not being asked.
I don’t believe that there is any media in this country. There are only illusionists and blatant liars like Brian Williams.
For some time now I have believed that the motto of America should be changed to “In Lies We Trust”, and that should be printed on all of our currency, because that is the case in America.
I don’t think this country is going to know truth again until it smacks us in the face, and I think it’s going to be one heck of a smack.
