Nothing wrong with her example of British dentistry. Those are some quiet, genteel, even and pearly white teeth!

I wish we could get together and JAM, but I am 3500 miles away! LOL!

That's me on bass. I am the Music Director of a Biker Church.

THAT IS SO COOL! Wish we could jam too! Right now, hubby and I play in an acoustic trio: Me on guitar/banjo, him on bass, and my friend on 12 string and mando. We call ourselves Black Dog (no we’re not a Zeppelin cover band). Do everything from Bonnie Raitt to the Bangles. If you’re on facebook, you can find us at Black Dog - 253. I’m the short one with all the hair and baseball cap! HAHA! Rock on!

Indeed!

What the Hollywood Elite fail to acknowledge is that, for at LEAST half a century, REAL Women’s Rights Advocates have been struggling to ELIMINATE Sexual Violence, Spousal Abuse, and Rape.

They are trying to make this “acceptable” behavior, and I am NOT falling for it.

“I keep reading about how women love this book. And then can not help but wonder why women are always portrayed as so much more intelligent and superior to men in popular culture.”

My theory is that the women who love this book are secret voyeurs who are attracted to the dark side of sensuality and sex. This is a safe way to do it without a lot of actual experience and it is a naughty fantasy the majority would never pursue. Then there are the “I see him as a project that needs a good woman to fix and make “normal” [as opposed to the current “abnormal” she has to contend].

“Fifty Shades of Grey” is a piece of soft porn garbage and a miserable failure of literature.

Indeed something to think about. Then again, having had to read some popular “Romance” novels in the past, I cannot understand why women find them so readable either. I found them consistently boring, with the exception of one or two that had a genuine mystery narrative throughout.

It’s often compared to “Twilight,” which was also dreadfully written (I assume — all I read was the bit on Amazon). I suspect the appeal is of the same kind — the idea that a woefully ordinary woman can attract a terribly powerful and/or rich man.

Mills and Boone has made millions on that premise, however a lot of the people who’re rabid about Twilight or 50 Shades of Grey like to seem themselves as superior to the average romance reader.

She’s 17, so she could go by herself. She said it was a pointless movie with no plot. I want to read the book because I heard it’s so badly written. Dave Berry got me interested.

“I would stay well away from anyone who considers the book or movie as somehow a worthwhile read or at all viewable.”

agreed

I didn’t even bother with ‘Twilight’.....Bram Stoker’s work is magnificent enough

I re-read Dracula every decade or so, but I like a lot of vampire stories. I enjoyed Barbara Hambly’s “Those Who Hunt the Night,” for instance. Can’t remember if I even finished the first sequel; either I didn’t like it or it was forgettable.

Twilight, however, may or may not have been an interesting new take on vampires, but it was definitely badly written.
