My theory is that the women who love this book are secret voyeurs who are attracted to the dark side of sensuality and sex. This is a safe way to do it without a lot of actual experience and it is a naughty fantasy the majority would never pursue. Then there are the “I see him as a project that needs a good woman to fix and make “normal” [as opposed to the current “abnormal” she has to contend].
“Fifty Shades of Grey” is a piece of soft porn garbage and a miserable failure of literature.
Indeed something to think about. Then again, having had to read some popular “Romance” novels in the past, I cannot understand why women find them so readable either. I found them consistently boring, with the exception of one or two that had a genuine mystery narrative throughout.
