Officials in India want to make one thing clear: The tree that President Barack Obama planted in New Delhi three weeks ago is not dead. It just looks dead.

I don't know why the Indians saw fit to have the Puppet plant a 'fig' tree, which, despite the article's assertion that the ficus religiosa is seen as holy by Buddists, also happens to be one of 2 trees sacred to islam. With all that political & religious pressure, on top of being planted by a dishonest moronic unic, I'd look dead, too. (do I need to? Alright: /s)
