Report: LAX Flight Has To Return To Gate After Woman Stung By Scorpion

LAX was unable to confirm the incident, but ESPN reported that the woman, who was reportedly sitting two rows in front of coach Wayne Tinkle, was stung before Alaska Airlines flight 567 had taken off.
According to Tinkle, the plane had flown in from Mexico prior to Oregon State’s flight. The woman was taken away in an ambulance to be examined.

scorpions hitch rides on whatever they can. When I lived in Texas years ago we found one upstairs and speculated we had carried it up with the laundry.

Yep - during a remodel a few years ago, the electrician set his tookbox down in the bedroom corner....a couple of days later, we spotted a scorpion, complete with it's litter of babies on it's back.
The little buggers love to get in tight places - each summer, I'll find 'em in the garage where the cars were parked. They crave the heat and closeness.

Apparently some guy saw the scorpion on his shoulder and flicked it off and it landed on the woman.
Also, the fate of the woman is unknown, but the fate of the scorpion is, it was stomped on.

I’m glad that I don’t have to deal with scorpions here, they’re really off-putting, worse than any poisonous spider. I’m not easily freaked out by creepy-crawlies or snakes, but those things have a major creepiness factor.

I live in Texas and have been stung by scorpions several times. It hurts but unless you are allergic to them it is of no danger. If you do not want to be stung by a scorpion do not live in Texas.

Legend has it that scorpions have a preference for stinging liberals. Do not move to Texas if you are a liberal.
