A can of Coke could soon look like a pack of Marlboros, if one Bronx lawmaker has his way.
Assemblyman Jeff Dinowitz has introduced the “Sugar-Sweetened Beverages Safety Warning Act” — which would require tobacco-style health- warning labels on all sugary drinks, such a cola, iced tea and energy drinks.
The labels would read: “SAFETY WARNING: Drinking beverages with added sugar contributes to obesity, diabetes and tooth decay.”

Soft drinks aren’t sweetened with sugar. It’s HFCS, and no politician will say that it is bad because HFCS is in EVERYTHING and it has a strong lobby.
We need cigarette - like warnings on election ballots. Some of these politicians are cancers to society.
I’m all for it! We need to put these warnings on everything that might possibly be harmful in some greenie or some bureaucrat’s mind. When they are ubiquitous they will totally cease to have any efficacy at all. They will just be part of the decoration of the packaging.
What about warnings on cake mixes, sugar, candy, pizza, bread, booze, they all cause health issues if consumed in to great a quantity.
I am more worried about the following as I have been the victim of it. My quality of life has declined to the point I am ready for a wheelchair. All because of side effect riddled drugs. And doctors who don’t know and don’t tell you the truth about them. Or don’t give a rats behind as they are peddling them for the drug companies.
WARNING: doctors pills will damage your health and or KILL YOU! I’ve had the very displeasure of being treated with the HRT, OA and Fosamax. After years of torture by the drugs which doctors don’t know the side effects of I now question and research each one now. My Friday doctor visit will come with a OP drug script. As my bones are NOW in the -4 OP range. Despite a boat load of bone vitamins and minerals taken daily.
NO attempt has been made to ween me off the bone destroying Nexium. 80 mg per day. You can not just cold turkey these drugs, they have to be slowly reduced. Or you get GERD REBOUND even worse.
How about that warning Black Box Warning label being placed on Doctors doors and all meds?
HRT & OA drugs lead to GERD. Leads to Barrett’s Esophagus and other GI issues. Nexium and other PPI’S, drugs lead to brittle bones Osteoporosis as you can never seem to get weened off them. Now come the HORRID OP drugs which all carry big FDA warnings on them. Including the famous Black Box warning.

My son drank from a garden hose a few days ago... a busy body told me it could kill him...I told busy body I drank from hoses, biked without a helmet, played outside with friends, and swam in ponds...and I’m still alive. My boys aren’t going to be protected by life. They need to have fun.

So true! After seeing what decades of prescription drugs has done to my Dad, I will avoid them at all costs. My oldest has asthma, but at 15 is controlling it almost entirely without meds. He is a fitness machine and avoids sugar and processed foods completely. It has made all the difference in the world.
My youngest son has been hospitalized in the past for a horrible reaction to a skin virus. I replaced is meds with a homemade herbal treatment.
