When a young man came into a Raleigh, N.C., Target store to buy a clip-on tie for a Chick-fil-A job interview, he was told they were all out. Then, employee Dennis Roberts offered to show him how to tie a standard tie. Shopper Audrey Mark noticed the tie tutorial, snapped a picture and posted it to the stores Facebook page. Its been liked and shared thousands of times. The teen, whose name is still unknown, got more than just a lesson in fashion. Roberts offered some interview tips, too. He told ABC-11 that he instructed the teen to make sure you look them in the eye and make sure you give them a stern handshake.
He tucked his shirt in and tied his shoes.

Part 2:
He then went for the interview and was told the position was already filled by “Juan Diaz from Mexico who would work for less.”
I think this story is very good for all involved and especially Target.
If Chick-fil-A does not hire him, Target should.

Posted to wrong thread...sorry
With all the news about youths (as the news call them) demonstrating, rioting, and much worse throughout the country about selected events, the image of a young black teenager taking the time and trouble to dress nice for an interview for a job is very heartening to me. It restores some faith to me. I hope he gets that job, or another one just like it. :0)
I still hope the company goes out of business
the kid was wearing a suit for an interview at Chik-fil-a? wow
“...show him how to tie a standard tie. He tucked his shirt in and tied his shoes.
That is both sad and horrifying on too many levels.
Nice story. And I’ll bet he was told to have a “firm handshake,” rather than a “stern handshake.” Where are the editors of these stories anyway?
But funny :)
Kinda fits

Such a nice yoot willing to learn such important skills such as tucking shirts in, tying shoes, and wearing ties, instead of rioting. Make him the President.
oops, we already did that...
I think I could say this. Our current President would never have stooped to such a low thing as “actually taking the time to apply for an hourly wage job”. He was groomed from the gitgo to fool us all (well, at least some of us.)
A laurel, and hardy handshake.
“He says the sheriff is near.”
I used to have to wear a tie during my ten years when I sacked groceries at the local Big Star. Even with polos
