What is it about photos of abortion victims that enrages people so much?
On February 4, a homeowner gone wild attacked a team of Created Equal’s young pro-life activists who were demonstrating outside Beechcroft High School in Columbus, Ohio, as school was being dismissed.
Video of the incident shows the man, identified as Curtis Hall, crossing the street to berate Created Equal’s Josh Bertsch and Jami Beer (pictured with police officer below left and middle) before stealing and destroying their signs.
Hall shouted, “Get ‘em out of here or I am going to break ‘em.” He proceeded to knock signs over and take three, which he carried across the street and broke before throwing them in front of traffic.

Hall later told 10TV News “he is neither pro-life nor pro-choice – he just thinks the demonstration is inappropriate.”
But why would it be inappropriate to educate abortion-vulnerable high school students on the reality of abortion?
2015-02-06_1028Created Equal filed charges against Hall yesterday and demanded repayment of $120 for the broken signs.
This morning I spoke with Created Equal’s Executive Director, Mark Harrington, and Director of Training, Seth Drayer.
They indicated Hall wrote an email last night apologizing for his behavior.
It is Created Equal’s policy to drop charges if apologies are sincere, although it would still require financial restitution. Hall’s sincerity will likely be put to the test today, because Created Equal has scheduled a return demonstration to Beechcroft High School.
Created Equal has six months to decide whether or not to proceed with charges.

Being confronted with the truth, I'd imagine. So much easier to stay passive when you can pretend that what actually happens, doesn't.
Maybe it’s upsetting to him to have pictures of mutilated, dead bloody babies in front of his home.
Sometimes I think it’s more than the truth. These people have had abortions or have had others have abortions. Now they see the truth but don’t want to see it.
The cop sounded OK thankfully but where is this place?
The man should be charged for criminal mischief and theft plus endangerment to traffic by placing obstacles on the road.
I’d just like everyone to note how the right are peaceful and mature again while libs who either claim they are right wing or left wing act like children
I look at this every single day, usually just before I’m posting something here. Don’t you thing I find it “upsetting”? What is “upsetting” is not the pictures, because that is a dead baby, that baby no longer suffers. What is “upsetting” is that it still goes on. People see the pictures of a crime scene and in stead of going after the criminal they go after the messenger. Talk about “upsetting”.
Not everyone has the ability to look at something that horrible without becoming emotional. Apparently, this man cannot cope with the images of a mutilated infant. This man, unless there is some proof about which I am not aware, is not a “criminal”. He might just as likely be a victim. Perhaps his wife or daughter had an abortion. Perhaps his mother had an abortion. Perhaps he simply is overwhelmed by the images.
Why would anyone assume that he has some kind of guilt?
This is a fairly serious crime or set of crimes, he should be facing something that should result in some moderately serious charges and punishment for terrorizing those people.
Something like 30 days in jail and a $5,000.00 fine, and damages.

So, YOU are assigning VICTIM status to an individual you conducted a strong arm robbery of a person in a public place and destroyed that robbery victim’s property? The next thing we know, you might be advocating that he sue the folks from whom he stole the property.

I hope the first question is not rhetorical and someone has an answer. I do have some insight into Illinois.
I accept the man’s comment that he is neither pro-life nor pro-abortion. Large numbers of people and large numbers of voters at election time want to avoid controversy. They want to avoid taking sides on controversial issues.
They will vote against the candidate who makes them uncomfortable. It is not nice to make people uncomfortable. Exposing the true nature of abortion is one of the most obvious ways to make someone uncomfortable.
A few years ago there was a GOP primary; a pro-life candidate challenging the most liberal. pro-abortion, pro-corruption Republican in the IL legislature. The good-government activists (who were also pro-life) tried to convince the pro-life activists to get pragmatic and work for the pro-life candidate. But the pro-life activists stated that they didn’t get involved in politics.
Then the weekend before election day the pro-life activists blanketed the highways and intersections with extremely graphic pictures of aborted babies.
That lost the election for the pro-life candidate by jusgt a few votes. It was very predictable that the graphic pictures would create a backlash.
This is the real world. If we want to win, we have to act smart and pragmatic.
They should have had pepper spray and then kicked the shit out of him.
I tire easily of abortion porn. They probably aren’t aborted fetuses but miscarriages. Why would anyone take a picture of an aborted fetus?
If you had a miscarriage, would you want your baby’s picture on someone’s sign? Not me.
If you say these are deserving of dignity as a human being, why display their dead naked bodies on a sign in order to titillate? The ends justifies the means?
An ultrasound would carry the same weight but it doesn’t have the same “porn” quality to it.
That fat SOB would be searching for a competent surgeon to put his face back together if he had tried to take those from me. He’s pretty brave picking on a young girl but I guarantee he’d have a whole new concern had I been there.
Agreed. I find it to be extremely distressing. If some believe that makes me a bad person, so be it.
