Being able to record 4 programs at the same time, and watch a 5th program is amazing.

Personally, I’ve had good success with Comcast service. It may be luck, because my brother, also in Oregon, has some complaints.

Their Xfinity system is buggy, which is my worst complaint.

My sister in Minnesota has Comcast. She only has internet, no cable tv. The price is $30 a month.
The latest is $30 at 25mb download for internet

She had trouble with her modem recently, a modem I bought her the year before. SHE is and will be comcasts worse call! : )

She called them multiple times just to argue with them.
Her next call was to the modem manufacturer.... I feel sorry for them : )
Turned out comcast had lost the modem in their database and added it back.

For me, their customer service has been very good. Not perfect but who is? BTW I work in customer service for a huge IT company.

One caveat: Do NOT get the Xfinity X1 operating system equipment. I used to have the other Motorola system and by comparison X1 blows. That equipment is not end-of-life yet and I was told by a Comcast Engineer that there is no date set for that yet. So get the older system first. You can always upgrade...and negotiate a lower rate when you do so.

Now, if you've never had X1 it might be an improvement over your old provider's stuff.

Try to call them, there is NO phone number to be found, it takes a research project to cancel your service.

Um...1-800-comcast

Gets me service every time. They know who I am when I call because their system recognizes my number. I've never tried to cancel because I don't have problems that would necessitate that. If they jack the rates, we get on the phone, negotiate, cajol and sometimes threaten switching to Verizon FiOs. we always get a better rate in exchange for re-upping. That has only been required twice over a 10 year period.

I think that people's Comcast issues are regional. I live in MA and haven't had anything to cause me a screaming fit when dealing with them.

Never had a problem with Comcast.

I signed up for their triple play when I moved in to my house. Once the contract was up, I went to the local office to drop all the stuff I didn't use. Their customer service rep took off my land-line phone, took away my pay movie channels, let me keep the channel packages I liked, actually upped my internet speed, and cut my bill in half.

I understand a lot of people hate them but I've had no trouble at all with Comcast. And their high-speed internet is the best out there. I can stream high def on two TVs, a desktop and a laptop at the same time with no lag.

I pay $80/month for the Comcast Business Internet service... have had that for probably about 15 years now (in three different states). It's been generally quite reliable, fast and no fuss. Having business class gets you to a competent tech support department and gets you prompt on-site help when needed.

I use Direct-TV for tv, and Vonage for my phone lines (3).

Comcast Internet is good. Their cable is satisfactory. Customer service has improved greatly from the days when you had to be home all day waiting for the repairman. Have no idea on their phone service.
