MEN: STOP SAYING “WE’RE PREGNANT” – YOU’RE NOT, SHE IS. EQUALITY HAS ITS LIMITS

I’ve got two kids. Never once said “we’re pregnant”. To me it’s a presumption that has no responsibility with respect to the physical trials the mother has to undergo to have the child.

That said, a man with a pregnant wife has to bear the full implications of what that means. I don’t mean “baby daddy” like you see on “Maury” or “Jerry” - those are just harbingers of what this society is fast becoming

The implication, commitment and resolve needed cover a much longer responsibility are far greater. Few are ready to meet the challenge.

The liberals don’t want the father to think he has any suzerainty over the well-being of the child in utero.

Smash the patriarchy, his inclusion ends with the sperm contribution.

No, but I certainly accept all responsibility. I think the saying does the opposite of what the piece claims. How many times do you hear an absent dad say “we’re pregnant”. It implies 2 people are onboard. The PC approach would be not to say that in fear they could offend a single mom.

Does that mean men should quit saying, “We’re having a baby”? After all, the man isn’t having a baby, the woman is. Saying “we’re pregnant” isn’t PC run amok or somehow emasculating, it’s an acknowledgment of the relationship between mother, father, and child.

And we all know the role of the father.

“We’re pregnant”. Sure sign of a metrosexual pajama boy.

“We’re having a baby” and “We are expecting” are perfectly fine. Having a baby means more than the physical process of giving birth.

Saying “we’re pregnant”, sounds like lousy grammar, and makes no logical sense.

It takes two to make a baby.

Only one carries the child in HER uterus.

We're expecting a child; my wife is pregnant.

(Not really; age has reared its ugly head ...)

“It takes two to make it happen.”

Yeah, but when it’s happening, do people say “we’re getting impregnated”?
