Maybe the security office was purposely placed in the rear of the store with no nearby doors to the outside in order to force/facilitate this. Maybe it’s a coincidence. I do remember a case where a police department got successfully sued for a public perp walk by someone who was subsequently acquitted, which caused a nationwide change in police department policies.

The suicide heightens the sympathy value here, no matter what names we might call the deceased. Maybe the family will end up the better part of a million dollars richer.

But, Tech, they’ve lost their son!

Now I don’t want to jump all over this because I’ve been burned before. It’s quite possible he was a thief. But Target has a VERY weird policy about theft.

You are not kidding. The kid was, more than likely unbalanced before this but even if he was stealing this was NOT the way for any business to handle it. My goodness people have gone in a former job site, shot and killed everyone for less than this!! Who ever thought this policy up should be fired, this person put other employees in danger. What in heavens name were they thinking?
