A man who police say was attempting an armed robbery was shot dead in a Pompano Beach Taco Bell parking lot Tuesday.
Investigators said 21-year-old Rontavis Holton confronted Ronald Farmer, 37, just after 6 p.m. in the restaurant parking lot near West Atlantic Boulevard and Northwest 6th Avenue.
Holton, wearing a ski mask and sunglasses, told Farmer to pull down his pants during the attempted robbery.
Detectives said Farmer was able to reach for his own gun and shoot Holton. Holton was rushed to the hospital where he died.

The suspect "tried to rob him because of his car," she said. "His gun is for protection only."
Farmer's car is metalic silver with dark tinted windows. Members of "The Expendables" cast are painted on the driver's side doors.
LOL! Did he really think he was going to get away with driving this stolen car around town for very long?
Was Ron-virus going for the ride, money or both.
To bad the intended victim has been a bad boy before cause he’s probly going away for a while on a gun charge.
Note he’s from Travons neighbor hood
The perp started out with petty theft, then moved up to unarmed burglary and probation violations, then finally up to armed robbery. And done.
Rushing to wast taxpayers' money.
Yes it is.. a virus caused by black hosts (aka pseudo moms) to name their offsprings dumbass names so they won’t get a job.
Bad headline, a better one would have been:
Armed thug shot dead....
Gives new meaning to *take-out* and *carry-out*
I am sure he was just set up 8 times.
In my part of Florida everybody I know carries a gun and most of us just wave at the concealed carry permits available. The CCP is to me just another list to be on.
Gonetavis looks closer to 35 than 21. All the times he had to bend over for the soap in Prison must age you a lot.
