Obama wants to stall it all out so he can leave the mess in the next administration. It’s sufficient for him that things “look like” he’s doing something.

Don’t forget the “Puff” gunship, C-47. Beautiful sight working the perimeter in the dark.

The unconventional design of the A10 was specifically tailored to survivability in the close air support role, including avoiding PIR SAMs like these. Countermeasures were likely not needed, as the SAMs likely never acquired a heat signature. The turbofans of the warthog have fairly cool exhaust, and the tail end of those engines are shielded from direct view from both sides and below... the only shot with such a weapon on an A-10 is from directly behind... a view never seen by those being attacked... they see the business end and the belly.

“I wonder how quickly Fairchild Republic could retool “

Fairchild Republic went bankrupt in 2003.

Israel’s Elbit Systems acquired some of its assets, don’t know if that includes any Warthog tooling. Doubtful, really.

A stealth version of the A-10?

Stealth . . . Smealth. . . . . I'm thinking more along the lines of a heavy duty flying Timex, something that can "take a licking and keep on ticking", coming in low and slow and putting rounds on target while bringing the crew safely back home. If they can't see it coming that would be a nice bonus but not if it costs to much to build.

Me too. Should be an Army ship.

What happens though when one of these pig-pilots are captured?

How would ø’s Treason go then?

“What happens though when one of these pig-pilots are captured?”

Being close air support there ought to be some infantry nearby. And I imagine that his hog driver brothers would show up in a hurry.

“Should be an Army ship.”

Second that. Although the Marines will want some too.

“I wonder how quickly Fairchild Republic could retool and start producing the A-10 again, with advancements of course.”

The Fairchild Republic plant no longer exists. Its a shopping mall now.

Love your video..My favorite, Is the Jihadists mortar crew, shouting "Allah Arcbar" after every round,
they never made to three, a mortar counterbattery got 'em. They blowed-up real good.

“200 years from now, I want their children’s children’s children’s children to cower and cringe in fear whenever they hear the sounds of jet engines overhead because their legends tell of fire from the sky. “

Sounds like a role that Spooky gunships could fulfill admirably, although they are props not jets but, man, can they create havoc!

The Airfarce HATES the A-10. It isn't a sexy fast mover, and it's role is too close to the -ugh- ground.

Air Force pilots don't like the ground.

The close air ground support mission should belong to the branches that do ground combat.

The Army, certainly, but they are limited to helicopters, as fixed wing is the Air Force's turf.

Give it to The Marines. They LOVE the A-10.

That should be a poster

BlueLancer has a version with pictures that would do nicely as a poster.

Me? I prefer the unvarnished passion of original version, written within a day or so of 9/11.

I thought you implied that in the first sentence.

BlueLancer did imply that, and it was written right after 9/11, but he didn't explicitly say muslims.

I'm all for the annihilation of Islam because it's what they want to inflict on the world. Islam deserves it and more.

I'd be OK with that.

But we don't need to kill them all. Just enough.

How many is enough? We've killed enough when the survivors decide to stop killing infidels, and spread islam only on the field of ideas, truth and open debate, and stop trying to murder their way into dominance.

You want a number? N is between 0 and 1.2 billion. We don't set the value of N, they set the value of N...
