I was laughing at the thing... this was like some drunk guys in a frat house. (Not one at my alma matter OU) But maybe in some others...

It's not on here yet, but of course he gets the save. If he hadn't, that would be two weeks in a row where a black contestant didn't get the save. And that would be...well, we all know.

Thanks for the pings. Last night was my first look at AI this year. I've missed the fun thread with all the interesting posters and funny, honest comments. Miss AI? Not so much. They've stopped looking for talent. What they are looking for is fully developed compliant stars. The results are kind of weird as contestants try on different identities and are more about appeasing the judges and jumping through hoops.
Two things I noticed in a big way last night. What the judges call lack of connection to the song or whatever seems to be really bad diction. They aren't really singing the songs in ways the words or meaning are clear. The other thing is that something is very wrong when the celebrity singers are the most exciting acts of the night, to the point of overshadowing the contestants.
And JLo's half of a dress? What was that all about? It's like at a wedding when female guests are supposed to dress in such a way as to not divert attention from the bride. JLo should get some class and when she's a judge or performing on a talent show should not draw attention to herself and away from the contestants.
That's it for now....had to vent. I will be watching from now on. Is there anyone I should expect better things from than what happened last night?

Yes. And Idol isn't helping.
Last week's show was so bad we spent half the time talking about other Fox shows.
But still she was one of the most memorable of the night. Maybe because of the whole "Footloose" connection.
Why didn't they just make it Kenny Loggins Night? The guy was right there! And he has plenty of songs to choose from, any of which would have been an improvement on Suicidal Movie Song Night.

With the way Idol is deteriorating I guess they figure, ok from here on out we don’t have to make any decisions we will leave that up to the dwindling audience...
