At our annual extended family Christmas gathering my nephew was given "Glock: The Rise of America's Gun", by Paul Barrett. His mother gave him the book having heard "all about it on NPR". Naturally my sister-in-law is all about hard left politics and gun control. My nephew, a high school senior, is in total lockstep. After he'd been reading it for a few hours I asked him if there was a coupon in the back for range time. I wondered aloud 'why just read about something you just as easily put in your hands and experience'. The look on this kid's face was priceless. And I could think of no better place to share this moment than here. Merry Christmas and God protect our freedomS from those who want to take it.
Sorry for the typos. The word “can” belongs in there ... Merry Christmas!
Had a sorta similar experience at Thanksgiving. My niece was trying to distract her one-year-old with a toy for learning animals. She said, “what does the monkey say?”
I said, “If you want to keep your health plan, you can keep your health plan.”
She looked at me and said, “huh?” :-) Then she got it.
So when do you take him to the range?
There are a lot of comments here ...
Glock book? First thought it was a hollowed out book to put your Glock into to keep it handy on the bookshelf. Probably more useful that way.
So, what was the look on his face...an “ah-ha!” moment?, disdain?, shock?
My liberal gun hating sis-in-law is visiting too. She voted for Wendy Davis ....ha ha ha!....got to be nice since it is Christmas, but it is hard to keep quiet!
I gave my grandson Rush Limbaughs New book,He is 12.
My Mother noticed and screeched!
I said Rush has written three kids books,Moms said She had not heard that.
I said “ Libs only know him as the Devil Incarnate”. /sarcastic
Nobody got hurt.
His look was one where he knew that I knew he would never put a Glock in his hands. He knows that I know he hates the 2nd ammendment.
Sounds like a conversation I had with my niece. (In fact, I think it’s the last time she has spoken to me.
We were at a family meal and I mentioned something about an article in an NRA magazine to my mom.
“Yuck” said the high school aged Nobel laureate. I asked if something was wrong with her food and she proceeded to launch into a diatribe about the evils of guns and those of us who own them.
I began a discussion and she told grandma to make me stop arguing. My mom said I wasn’t arguing but instead was simply responding to her comments.
I was hoping to get into her head through my job. I’m company spokesman for some of our products and am on some in store video monitors. The Home Depot she works at was supposed to get some in her department so she’d see me all day. Unfortunately the deal fell through.
You will really enjoy this book review for a book called The Secret, which I feel is an overhyped New Age self-help bunch of crap which is basically a secular version of Norman Vincent Peale's The Power of Positive Thinking, just written for Godless Libertardian Hedonists.
Trust me everyone, you want to read this review... I posted it here a while ago in a thread about the book so I will link to my post in that thread (the link to the old Amazon review is broken, sadly):

It is my goal to live long enough to see the day when it is the Libs who have to keep quiet to keep the peace. I don’t let them shut me up anymore.
At that point did you mention the estate that you will NOT be leaving to any portion of his family? ;)
I gave my wife a Sig in 9 MM. She is delighted.

I long for the day we can fence them off in New York and let their politics ravage their own lives.
I gave my wife a Glock 42 for Christmas. She is also very happy. It complements the Ruger SR22 I gave her two years ago for our anniversary.
