yeah...I would have waited.
but I would have gotten the heart shot. this guy got lucky and just barely spined it. another half inch higher and he would have grazed it.
He died game.
Best to just let him finish...
Depends if you want to eat venison if you do you take the best shot you can as soon as possible

Back beyond the clearing one of the bucks was overheard saying “Well, he died doing what he enjoyed doing most. We should all be so lucky.”
Heh. Reminds me of the time my brother couldn’t make it on a fishing trip with the rest of our family. Turns out his wife’s particulars were all lined up to give it another try for conceiving a child. He told me, but told me to fib and say he had to work.
Mom: “Oh, I wish he could have come. He works too hard!”
Me: “Well, he enjoys his work you know. And some times you have to work really long and hard to get results. But - a guy has to do what a guy has to do.”
Man, the decent thing to do would be to wait until they have time to enjoy a cigarette and the afterglow.
