It was a horrible call. Anyone watching the woosification of the NFL would agree that that was a legal hit.

I can say as a long time Niner fan and former season ticket holder, that if that call had not been made at this crucial juncture, then the Niners would have gone on to loose that game 10-7.

Wasn’t he involved in another horrible call just a couple of seasons ago?

I agree : It was a horrible call.

But as also a long-time Niners fan ( back to John Brodie and Ken Willard days at Kezar ) - Thank God he put them out of their misery.

Just put the QB and receivers in freaking dresses. They don’t even bother to enforce the “must make it back to the line of scrimmage” on the allowable intentional grounding.

I *DESPISE* SF but I NEVER like bad calls no matter which team they help or hurt.

And that was a doozy. One of the worst in NFL history.

A referee making a bad call???? Seriesly?!

Half the time the referees AND the commentators can’t even make the right call with the aid of slow-motion replay...

As a Ravens fan, I am used to seeing calls as blatantly bad as that one go against my team every game. The league very obviously has favorites who consistently have calls go their way and goats who consistently get screwed over.

Hochuli is one of the worst refs. Always seems flag happy. Refs should not be lawyers like he is. They should only call flagrant and very obvious penalties. Let the ticky tacky stuff slide and play the dang game like men.

This ref derailed the Patriots against the Packers three weeks ago. The calls against the Pats were so egregious that the network did not air replays.

There was a betting line on the first half that had the Pats scoring 14 and a half points. Everybody went over. Vegas was in trouble. Here comes Hoculi, a lawyer, to the rescue, again.

Exactly the same call in the Steelers vs. Falcons game, with the same outcome: the refs converted a sack that would have taken the Falcons out of field goal range into a red zone opportunity and essentially handed them the subsequent touchdown.

Luckily, it had no effect on the outcome of the game. What is happening to the NFL in the name of "player safety" is an atrocity.

Bad call but the Seahawks would have won anyway. That is all.

Ed Hock a Loogee has had so many “suspect” calls over the years I am convinced he is the NFL version of Tim Donaghy.

I was watching the game in a bar in Seattle, and everyone agreed it was a bad call. But you take them when you get them, because you know they eventually even out (more or less).

The NFL plays favorites....certain QB are “protected”

MY BUCCANEERS suck this year but McCown gets hit like that 10 times a game...I half expect to have to see his head get popped off before they will pull the yellow...

Refs don’t bat an eyelash...

Wilson, Manning brothers, Brady, and a few others will get that flag thown every time they take a hard hit...

Wasn’t it a couple years ago that the NBA refs were caught making seriously bad calls for fun and profit? Not that anyone would bet on NFL games, point spreads, or anything like that .... probably just nickel and dime sport betting among friends at the worst.

I can’t watch 49ers games any more because the officials are so consistently biased in the calls against them. The opposing team can usually get away with murder and the 49ers players get flags and whistles at the slightest hint of what might be a transgression if somebody were to be squinting real hard and maybe notice a little something out the corner of their eye. Older kid and her husband are die-hard 49ers fans and regularly scream at the TV because of the idiocy of some of the calls.

I sincerely believe they’d be a much better team if they were allowed to play without the constant pressure of knowing that a b.s. penalty is coming their way within the next couple of downs.
