A New Mexico high school teacher has left her job after a student rewrote the biblical story about Jesus handing out bread and fish to the poor into a narrative about Jesus handing out marijuana to the sick.

The student wrote the story, not the teacher, so why is she heading for the hills? Maybe there was a classroom discussion about this piece which became a bitter argument. Even still, I don’t see why she had to go, unless she is so unaccustomed to any sort of controversy and got cold feet.
