Scientists Implant Human Brain Cells In Mice To Create ‘Supermouse
Yahoo ^ | 12-8-14 | James Kosur

Scientists from the University of Rochester Medical Center in New York have created a “supermouse.” The new creation was designed by implanting human brain cells in a normal mouse.

Why would a group of researchers venture into the realm of something that seems like a scene straight out of The Planet of the Apes? Researchers are hoping to better understand human brain diseases by studying them in living mouse brains. The hybrid brains retain a mouse’s own neurons, which constitute about half of their brain cells. But almost all of their glial cells, which support the neurons, are human.

“The new creation was designed by implanting human brain cells in a normal mouse.”

I don’t know - injecting rat brain cells into humans didn’t work very well - that’s how we wound up with liberals!

It could become a serious ethical issue. At what percentage of human DNA will a being be considered human? Besides which, it creeps me out that these new creations are the result of neither God nor nature.

When humans create beings, humans become Gods. A whole lot of authors and philosophers have expressed thoughts about what happens when man becomes God. None of it's real optimistic.

Researchers took the immature glial cells from donated human fetuses and injected them into mouse pups.

Donated aborted human fetuses?

The cells implanted into the mice were taken from aborted babies. *That* makes the research immoral.

The cells themselves form part of brain structure, but are not neurons that are responsible for thinking. The fact that these structural cells still contributed to better memory (four-fold improvement, but I don’t know exactly what that means) makes me wonder a few things about brain function—maybe *all* nervous system cell types contribute to our conscious experience.

Anyway, this is unethical research, for a number of reasons.

Horrible. Poor babies who were created for death.

My husband who is a doctor who has done medical research. He has used fetal pigs in the past. The amount of paperwork, meetings and red tape takes at least 6 months to set up with continuous meetings throughout the research.

Fetal pigs... better not violate animal ethical protocols. Human babies.... do what you like.

If they inject human braincells into sloths, they can run on the GOP ticket.

Liberals are amazing. If you genetically modify wheat so more people can eat, you are doing something horrible and unnatural. If you use animals for food you are, to some but not all liberals, evil. But if you kill a human baby and use its cells to genetically modify animals, the liberals say you are good on two counts. The killing of the baby is considered one good thing in itself, and genetically modifying human cells is generally something the leftists approve of. At any rate, killing unborn babies and selling their parts and cells is one big business most on the left completely support.

I think they found that any creature that does not have a spine and is not very smart will work well for this.

Still trying to create a demand for aborted fetuses, eh?

Kinda like the Nazis making lampshades out of human skin

i agree with your #9 post. adn when they ARE declared humans by some liberal judge, they’ll be eligible for government benefits. i kid you not. if we pass this way, we’ll get there.
but how do we know these ‘human brained animals’ aren’t intelligent enough to be aware of their situation?
