The Weekly Gardening Thread is a weekly gathering of folks that love soil, seeds and plants of all kinds. From complete newbies that are looking to start that first potted plant, to gardeners with some acreage, to Master Gardener level and beyond, we would love to hear from you. This thread is non-political, although you will find that most here are conservative folks.
No matter what, you wont be flamed and the only dumb question is the one that isnt asked. It is impossible to hijack the Weekly Gardening Thread. There is no telling where it will go and... that is part of the fun and interest. Jump in and join us!
NOTE: This is a once a week ping list. We do post to the thread during the week. Links to related articles and discussions which might be of interest are welcomed, so feel free to post them at any time.
Oh thank you but there is no hurry. Just was trying to make a plan for this spring. Thanks again.
I’ve got three 3 to 4 ft high tomato plants with around 15 or so green tomatoes and many more blooms. I covered them with plastic and put some lights under it when it got cold. So far, so good.
Camelia?
We started our heated greenhouse last year. We almost made it through the winter when we had a late winter windy cold snap that blew out the pilot light on our heater and we lost everything. This year we have electric backup in addition to sealing some small holes that probably allowed the draft.
We have millions of winter moths here in Massachusetts. It’s awful. I’m hoping for a killing frost tonight.
Procrastinated on mine too, but managed to get it done last Saturday when the temperature got up to about 60.
You could make a bunch of these:

Yes, finally a plant that is not toxic. Beautiful flowers too. Thank you. I will have to be careful during winter but I think it will work if I cover them.
Good news from Arrowhead!
I will be manning a booth at the Toys for tots Run tomorrow...let’s hope it doesn’t rain on the Bikers.
((((HUGS))))
I’m late again. Had ANOTHER good rain in the past 6 hours and there is things to do in the garden but .
uh oh, johnny, best of luck to you.
I am needing to go in for glasses too. Had to get glasses at sixteen. About 8 years ago, my vision changed so that I only needed reading glasses, and haven’t had to wear them for driving or watching TV, but I can tell that my vision has changed.
Going to try to wait for spring. I don’t like to go out in the cold, and try to avoid public places once flu season gets here.
Glad it is working so far. Home grown tomatoes are especially good in the winter.
Sounds like a good plan for this winter.
I don’t blame you.
That’s pretty neat. I’ll have to show it to Hubby.
Hope the event is successful and dry.
But..... Been there-more and more every day. LOL
So far...the weather looks good! ;-)
I have to wear glasses for distance. Just a few years ago I was able to read the smallest print without a problem, but lately I’ve found I can’t do that any longer. It’s annoying.
