WINDSOR LOCKS, Conn., - A woman and her pot-bellied pig were booted off a Washington, D.C.-bound plane after passengers complained the pig was disruptive and stinky.
The pig, thought to be about 70 pounds, had been brought aboard the US Airways plane at Bradley International Airport in Connecticut as an emotional-support animal. Crew members determined the animal was too disruptive and asked the woman to leave with the pig before the flight departed.
Some people aboard the plane thought the woman was carrying a large duffle bag over her shoulder.
"But it turns out it wasn't a duffel bag. We could smell it and it was a pig on a leash," Passenger Jonathan Skolnik told ABC News.
"She tethered it to the arm rest next to me and started to deal with her stuff, but the pig was walking back and forth."
Yup...there he is at the gate...with his “pet parent.”
Ok, my initial reaction was based on ignorance. I didn’t know about a federal law allowing “emotional support” animals on a flight.
So let me amend my post:
Fire everyone in the federal government, let’s have a review of what we need, and start hiring on an as-need basis, but very slowly.
If it is not trained well enough to sit, stay, and not be a distraction, then it is not a properly-trained service animal, and should not be allowed the privileges that proper service animals are allowed. The stinky pig who brought the animal on the plane just wanted attention, wanted to transport her pet for free, and wanted to feel special. She’s not.
people have to travel sometimes....and kids are people....and they pay for a seat.....
children are beloved, they are our future, and I'm tired of their presence being hated by older humans....
Rosie O’Donnell? Is that you?
She did not want any muslims on the plane with her....
He was probably a Moslem.
(I cannot believe no comments have been made yet about Islam on this thread!)
Good point. I too have serious doubts about many “service animals”, where one can buy the stupid harnesses and blankets for oneself, anyway. Never mind their behavior.
I am sick of the abuse of the privilege of this “service animal” nonsense.
I will get hell on FR because I’m an animal lover who does not bow down to every PETA-like view of animals on here, including “they do SO MUCH for the owner!”
Never mind it is almost impossible to prove an animal might actually be any kind of service to people who do not look to be in any given condition. By that damned commie ADA people are not even allowed to ask for proof of the animal being certified. They cannot carry a card on themselves, for God’s sake?
Only Seeing-Eye type and some mobility dogs are pretty obvious as far as their service.
Others are a crapshoot as far as I see.

About like the two guys were walking their dog on a hot summer afternoon and decided to drop into a bar and have a beer.
They sat down and the bartender said, can’t let you in here with those dogs.
The first guy pops up, “My German Shepherd here is a guide dog and I suffer from partial blindness etc, so I need him”.
BT- “Sorry, you are ok but your buddies dog has to go”.
The buddy ‘whispered’ “Mine is a Working Police Dog and I have to keep him in my possession”
BT “Police Dog?, that is a Chihuahua”
“Shh, You will blow his cover”.
“an individual with a mental or psychiatric disability.”
Lock them in a cage and eat the animal!
Personally, I think the whole concept of emotional support animals is silly and makes a mockery of service animals. Isn’t every pet an “emotional support” animal?

Exactly.
While not appropriate to bring a pig aboard, its certainly not terrifying. A person claiming to be a man was terrified and admitted it to the national msm. This is why America is in the shape its in. Man up.

+1
How did it get past security?
Did TSA scan and do a body cavity search of the pig? No, the other pig.
100% agreed. Can't go anywhere without seeing a dog now. People literally can bring them almost anywhere and get indignant if any dares to question them.
The greedy a-holes seem to be growing in numbers.
