We havent even had time to hang the mistletoe and would you believe there are already skirmishes breaking out in the war on Christmas?
The latest yuletide battleground is Butler Elementary School in Belmont, Mass.
Over the years Ive covered my fair share of anti-Christmas school house shenanigans. There was the dimwit who confiscated a childs candy canes and the dunderheads who banned the colors red and green. And how can we forget about the simpletons who outlawed classroom poinsettias or the Junior League communists who rewrote the lyrics to "Silent Night"?
But those are junior varsity skirmishes compared to what happened at Butler Elementary School where the PTA canceled a field trip to see The Nutcracker because there was a Christmas tree on the stage.
Im not making this up, folks.
Television station WHDH did a stellar job reporting this act of lunacy. They report that a group of parents were alarmed at the questionable content of the popular ballet.

The Nutcracker
What am I overlooking?
I hear you but it’s across the country.
The other day my youngest granddaughter in middle school told me they were learning about Muslims.
I asked if they had learned about Christians or Jews and she said no.
I did a slow burn.
Not really.
(not biting tonight, G!)
You’re correct and overlooking nothing.
Many members of the PTA now evidently don’t understand it.
When psychopaths want to get something done they only need to find one
person to agree. Hell will welcome these degenerates for perverting Children.
A play about alternative lifestyle choices would have been acceptable.
I know public schools aren't perfect, but it is simply false (and in some cases, lying) to color every one of them with the "extremist" brush.
“... at the questionable content of the popular ballet.”
Questionable content of a Christmas Tree on stage while watching a bunch of fairies in leotards dancing .... bet they would have gone if Princess Rahm Emanuel was giving an encore performance!
So can he.
Beulah Balbricker is not amused.
Yeah, with them tied to it.
Belmont, once the home of a fairly influential John Birch Society. Today, the home of Marxist fairies.
Dear Sir:
How am I supposed to sit home silently, not speaking out, when I KNOW you are publicly (and I must add I am deeply offended by your explicit sexual innuendo) “enjoying yourselves”?
Purity Cur Mudgeon
LOL!
Yes. Robert Welch used to live there and I believe the JBS headquarters was there. They’ve since moved to Wisconsin. Even in his day, Belmont was a very liberal town — lots of Harvard and MIT faculty there — and they’ve only become more liberal through the years.
