Ex-NBC employee Frank Scotti claims Bill Cosby paid off women

Back when Bill Cosby was the king of network television, veteran NBC employee Frank Scotti served as the royal fixer.

When Cosby invited young models into his Brooklyn dressing room, the megastar’s pal stood watch outside the door. When the married Cosby sought a Queens apartment for another pretty face, Scotti arranged the deal.

And when the man behind Fat Albert needed cash disbursed to his flock of single female friends — hey, hey, hey — Scotti became the conduit for payments of up to $2,000 a month.

“He had everybody fooled,” said Scotti in an exclusive interview with the Daily News. “Nobody suspected.”

Scotti came forward last week with his insider’s look at Cosby’s womanizing ways during the magical 1984-92 run of “The Cosby Show.”

Yes, I took your explanation that all this was from Scotti’s perspective. I just used my reply to get a few things off my chest about the whole mess in general.

Nothing meant towards you or your thoughts personally.

“a panderer, a procurer, and a bagman”

Scotti’s job position was facility manager of the production facility for NBC, so Scotti’s normal and customary job duties included personally maintain the privacy of the performing artist in his dressing room. Bill Cosby is far from being the first celebrity to include such personal attention to the privacy of their dressing room by a rider on their contract. Bill Cosby took full advantage of such practices. So, there is no evidence within Scotti’s disclosures which warrant an accusation of pandering for Bill Cosby simply because Scotti guarded Bill Cosby’s dressing room when he was visited by females.

There is not evidence in these disclosures which would indicate Scotti procured women for Bill Cosby. On the contrary, the disclosures indicate Bill Cosby used the women’s own talent agents to procure the women for Bill Cosby’s attentions. This circumstance is a major red flag, especially with respect for young women who were regarded as minors. Talent agents are supposed to behave more like a nurse in a doctor’s office by chaperoning women in the presence of a male celebrity performer and/or prospective employer.

Scotti quit Bill Cosby because of his uneasiness about being commanded by Bill Cosby to act as Cosby’s agent in handling payments to the women for undisclosed purposes. Unfortunately for Scotti, such extraordinary methods of making cash payments to the women may have been not immediately provable as an illegal act or misconduct, yet also could have left Scotti vulnerable to charges of being an accessory to a crime Scotti was unaware was being committed. In other words, Bill Cosby put Scotti between a rock and a hard place with not enough information to know whether the activity warranted forfeiting his career and livelihood as an employee of NBC. A facility manager is sometimes reasonably expected to handle certain occasional disbursements of cash and checks on behalf of a celebrity, but Bill Cosby took unfair advantage of this customar practice to command the disbursements in questionable circumstances. So, Scotti’s normal and customary job duties may have put him in a situation where he would be unable to refuse to perform the disbursement of the payments witout his employer, NBC, accusing Scotti of disobedience for false and frivolous reasons.

I am not familiar with the details of Lisa Bonet after she left the Cosby show but I have read where she didn’t want anything to do with it when it came to reunions, etc.

Read from that what you will.

“There is an agenda behind this.”

Black man trying to escape the plantation again. This is a warning shot to persons like Dr. Ben Carson, a prospective candidate for the Presidency on the Republican ticket, that deviation from the standard Marxist-Socialist ideal for all people of color is not to be tolerated. Bill Cosby has been calling for personal responsibility within the black community for years now, and Ben Carson is one who succeeded in overcoming his disadvantaged youth.

Not the role model the Marxist-Socialists want held up for the vast number of Americans of African descent. Many of whom, it turns out, are Americans in name only, only called “American” because that was the place of their birth.

“They tell us we are all citizens, that we were born in this country. Well, a cat can have kittens in the oven, but that doesn’t make them biscuits!”

Attributed to Malcolm X.

The statute of limitations has expired and no charges can be brought.

SOL in CA for rape is 10 years. There are allegations out there well within that time. Also, may vary by other states from which there are accusations.

While the earlier claims might not be criminally prosecutable, I believe two things do apply:

The women involved can sue in civil court for damages.

The testimony of women making accusations for which the SOL has expired can be used as evidence for a trial in a case for which the SOL has not expired. Shows pattern of behavior.

But I could be wrong about that part.

Simple, He is following the logical and prudent course of not giving the enemy anything to use while the attack is ongoing. The old days of playing by the left’s rules are gone. Just because they try to control the course of discussion by provoking a response does not mean you have to respond to it. Better if you don’t - see last election.

Sexual predators are in the employ of the enemy, as are their enablers.

Black man trying to escape the plantation again.

AFAIK, Bill hasn't made any high-profile statements of this type in at least five years.

The actual eruption of this controversy seems to be the result of a low-end comic routine, which then unexpectedly went viral. Not something that is all that easy to engineer.

The MSM appears pretty clearly to have been caught by surprise.

IOW, I think it's much more likely this is a random occurrence than a conspiracy to tear down Cosby as a warning to other black men.

I will assume Mr. Carson hasn't molested or raped dozens or hundreds of women, so I'm not entirely clear how this is supposed to warn him off.

A civil case could turn into a class action suit...

Consider the blatant abuse of innuendo against Herman Cain, just when it was looking like thee were some real prospects.

I do not believe Mr. Cain ever made any of the advances against the accuser that were inferred. This was a David Axelrod “dirty tricks” operation designed to take out Herman Cain at a critical moment.

Depend on it, something similar is being planned for Dr. Ben Carson, and there need not be one whit of truth involved. Just the APPEARANCE of impropriety would be sufficient.
