Maybe the best way to fight the Obama power grab is to show how it opens up the floodgates. So maybe all the GOP candidates should now start talking about what executive orders they would impose. After all, if we establish the precedent that the POTUS can flout the will of Congress by using EO's, then we would naturally start expecting presidents to use that to pursue their agenda, and we would want to know in advance for which issues they would likely consider using that new found power.
So let's put that out there! If this precedent gets established, then what EO's would the GOP base expect to get from a President Cruz, Paul, Huckabee, Ryan, Perry, Rubio, or fill-in-the-blank? Let's start posting all over the place about what EO's the GOP base will now expect from their candidate if they get into office - that might just freak out people on the left enough to make them realize that they just might want to keep the Constitutional checks and balances in place, rather than take that cork out of the bottle and then deal with how some future president may use those new powers.

Maybe you’re missing my point - I’m not at all saying that it’s okay, I’m saying that one way to put a stop to it is to show at least some of the liberals with sanity (if there are any) how that power would be turned against them if they set that precedent, and that talking about that is one way to build a mandate to stop it.

Perhaps I misunderstood, I interpreted your post 25 to mean that I was “part of the problem” by making this post.

There is no EO. EO's are what the old white presidents used to issue. This is something new... call it an edict, call it an order... essentially he just whipped up a new law (and is nullifying existing laws).

Everyone should be issuing “MY EO” and twitter them to their Congress critters. This must be a major issue and we must sweep away the other ones that have piled up over the years.
Stop enforcing federal firearm laws and issue every citizen a federal concealed carry permit.
Stop enforcement of the 1929,National Firearms Act and the 1986 Automatic Weapon Ban. Build and sell as many Class III firearms as the market desires.
Stop all prosecutions of those who block entrance to abortion clinics. Give protest permits only to Right to Life groups.
Here’s some that should have lie-beral heads exploding en masse:
1. All NFA applications must be processed within 15 business days of receipt and the tax-stamp must be enroute to the applicant, postmarked no more than 15 business days of receipt of a certified check drawn on any US bank. In other words, if they can’t find any reason not to issue the tax-stamp within 15 days, then they have to issue it and no further investigation is required.
2. Any NFA applicant may request an amnesty-waiver of the application fee. (effectively, make the application fee voluntary)
3. Any on-site BATFE inspections (manufacturer, dealer, whatever) require a 90 day advanced notice to the party being inspected. Any inspections deemed an emergency must get prior written POTUS approval before they can be conducted.
That would be a good start!!

This “Executive action” verses “Executive order” verses “law” is the same trick he used to give us “czars” instead of “cabinet members”. Same output without having to have the same input. It’s just a word game , he’s taking powers the Constitution denies him.
