No Gun Registration/No Universal “Background Checks”

For those of you in Oregon, this is of special importance for you.

Anti-gun extremists brag about how many people are denied gun purchases under the current system but never talk about how many of those people are denied with no justification because of an inept bureaucracy. The State Police’s own figures show that almost all “denials” are unjustified.

Forcing me to run a background check on a friend or loved one before I give them a firearm will do nothing to prevent felons from obtaining weapons. It is clear that the entire purpose of this kind of bill is to harass the law abiding. The Governor has now ordered that Oregon State Troopers leave patrol to “investigate” every “denial” even when there is no known cause for a person being denied his rights. To expand this outrageous misuse of scarce police resources to a firearm I am lending to a friend or giving to a family member makes no sense.

Oregon heads up. Don't know how it works in OR but in NV, I believe that once the petition is/was certified to mirror I-594 there are only two options. If the 2015 legislature declines to enact the initiative, it goes on the ballot for the '16 (s)elections as written. No counter petition would do any good since it would only direct the legislature to NOT enact the BS. Either way, it's gonna get pushed hard with lots of nanniebucks and margabby bucks and s.t.watts bucks. All outside forces trying to impose their agenda on the citizens of NV. Lots of nolow voters in Vegas.

Can’t they just lock up the “deniers”?

But, I don’t wanna be locked up. Wait. Which deniers are we talking about anyway? The intergalactic BGC deniers or the glow-bull discombobulation deniers. I’ve been in denial so much lately that I’m starting to confuse myself on what to deny next. :>}

P.S. Some Sierra Rain at Lake Tahoe per the caltrans cams. Phooey!

I believe the unjustified denials are harassment

Sledding on mud ain’t a lot of fun. Checked Echo Summit and it looks like liquid snow there too. Heavenly observation deck——liquid snow. Squaw Valley High Camp——liquid snow. Ain’t looking good for a Thanksgiving opening for the lake ski areas.

Gun control laws are not designed to prevent bad people from getting guns. They are designed to make it difficult for good people to get guns. Bad guys seem to be able to get guns quite easily in places all around the world where private ownership of guns is illegal. That part of the equation seems to be ignored.

One reaction to this bill is that everyone who might like to handle a weapon should now go and buy a gun.

Another reaction if enough people will do it is for everyone to have a second gun to trade and everybody trade guns anonymously and often. Then when a few get arrested the gun owners should financially support them and their families until they are clear.

The pele who don’t want good people to have guns are not the least concerned about criminals. They do not fear them. The real antis are wealthy and have protected homes and armed guards. They spread enough money around to buy the results they want. They do fear good people with guns because the antis are Progressives who intend to rule and that is in the Tsarist or Communist sense and for that, citizens with guns are dangerous.
