All 50 states have low temperatures BELOW freezing tonight. (Monday night) Yes, even Hawaii. Tall mountain peaks there regularly get below freezing, and even get snow. This typically happens a few times during winter, but is very rare this early in the season. Pretty neat!

And we have the greatest snow cover on this date since we have been keeping records.
WE lived in Santa Monica in 76, the last “coldest” winter, and I’m sure we enjoyed a pleasant, sunny day at the beach.

29 here in NH at this posting, it is going to be a bad one.
I’ll take a peak in side my freezer so I can relate to all the frigged folks...I really prefer my ice to be in my Margarita...

The map says below freezing temperatures were experienced in parts of all fifty states. It doesn’t say that all areas of all fifty states experienced below freezing (see the red freezing line on the map).
Another source (see post #20) says 85% of the surface area of the continental US had below freezing temperatures.
I love Florida! We will be above freezing all week, with 80s expected by the weekend.
You must live up quite high in elevation. At 0930 is it 80° here 500' above Kona.

There was a thread several years back with another amazing stat.
One day there was snow on the ground in all 50 states.
Freezing temps are one thing, but snow is pretty rare in a lot of places.
I gather you don’t live at the summit of Mauna Kea. (^_^)
This proves global warming is real.
I will grant you that on some mountain top at 14,000 feet - where nobody lives - there are freezing temps in California.
I should add I was feeling sympathetic as I was washing and waxing my car today.
Crescent City, California which is about as northern California a you can get was a bit chilly at 66 degrees today.
19 degrees in Newtown, CT.
It was 8 degrees yesterday morning in Truckee, CA. Is that below freezing? Does anyone live there?
32 is freezing so yes 8 is below freezing I live in Ca. Truckee is high desert always COLD and snowy in high desert!!!!!!!!!!
