I am at the point where I liked it better the way it was before. The college season ended on Jan 1st with all the Bowl Games, and you could have endless debates about which team was better.

Now College Football is just NFL-Lite.

Here's the article that accompanied the graphic. They recognize the point you made al_c regarding recent success.

Don't know why you saw the need to insult Alabamians there Max. Even students at smaller colleges around Alabama cheer on one or the other. They're simply big business in that state, mostly due to Paul 'Bear' Bryant's success at Alabama over such a long time period.

Take a trip down there sometime without the Euro-attitude. They're good people.

Even without the mental error by the Utah receiver, Oregon was going to win that game. Their tempo and conditioning catches up with the other team.

Utah has one of the best defenses in the country and Oregon worked them over after a slow start.

Yes. After winning 3 of the past 5 National Championships, Alabama is obviously over rated again.

(sarcasm off now).....We will certainly find out over the coming weeks.

The SEC will likely only get one team in the playoff; but sadly the four best teams in the country are probably all in the SEC West. And I think that most of the non-SEC teams in the top ten would be beaten by teams in the bottom of the SEC West (like LSU).

Sort of funny the Big 10 = 14 was so eager to bring in joke programs like Maryland and Rutgers when nobody cares about those programs or college football in the NE Corridor. I grew up in NY Metro and if you were even a college football fan you support Notre Dame.

There is no need to be a college football fan in New York with four pro-teams within a short drive.

Some people weren’t meant to travel the world. Stay there where you’re comfortable then.

I see that Jonathan Gruber is posting here
with a predictably pretentious and stupid nickname and spewing predictably arrogant and ignorant nonsense.

Oh, it’s based on history and fact. The Reconstruction Era was worse for Alabama than for other southern states, because it existed out of international commerce lanes. That’s why racism and the Klan held on so long there.

Yea, seeing how there is no racism in Boston, Philly, Chicago, L.A., Oakland, New York City, St. Louis etc etc.

It always amuses me when someone from a place that has, say 5% or less black population can lecture States with 25% or more black population on race relations. It’s real easy to get along with people you never interact with or even see.(North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin, Utah, Vermont, New Hampshire etc). Yep, look down your pointy little noses and tell us how we’re keeping the black man down.

So the KKK is still active here? Funny, I’ve lived here all my life and never even seen a pointy hat.

Here’s something to think about. If you are a white man at least half of the country thinks you are racist. Regardless of where you are from.

There is nothing “sad” about the good folks of Alabama loving college football. Football is our nation’s most popular sport. Your statements remind me of elitist northern liberals who look down on any who like sports as worthless rednecks.
