Two more days to play golf in New England! After Wednesday, it’s a rapid plunge into the 30s by next week.

It was gorgeous and sunny here today in KC - it’s now very windy and cold. Welcome winter!

its funny to me how people just can’t grasp the concept of driving on snow and ice - or even more so, are unable to use caution for the potential of snow and ice.

Especially since I would bet most of the cars on the side of the road are probably locals - they should know better!

Was at home over the weekend in northern Idaho when the front passed through. A warmish, very rainy day turned in minutes to a violent windstorm giving way to clear skies and temperatures 20 degrees colder. That was in the space of about three hours. Power went out. Kerosene lantern inside the well-house so that wouldn't freeze. What fun!

This week we're looking at lows in the teens or single digits, highs well below freezing. A little soon for this nonsense. Come on, Global Warming!

Stay cozy by your fireside, MtnClimber. We are getting the cold norther here in TX during the night. The patio plants have been relocated to the sun room, and we’ll make a big pot of chili tomorrow, our traditional welcome to winter in Central Texas.

No snow yet here southwest of Omaha. The wind is howling and we are at wind chill of 13 degrees. It definitely feels like late fall. I sure wish I would have gotten the final mowing done on my yard yesterday when it was 60. That will be put off for at least a week the way it looks.

Frankly, I’m hoping it hits MO tmo or next day when they make the Grand Jury non-charge announcement. Today was too warm @ high 60s for that. Tomorrow is a federal holiday so they may delay till Wednesday when it should be good and cold there.

75, sunny and quite breezy here in mid Missouri. The forecast is for big cold after midnight. All the stuff from the veggie garden was removed last week. Let the vines go.

Many years ago, we lived in Golden, coming back from duty overseas...

It’s getting down to 50 in the Texas Hill Country tonight, and I’m already COLD. Dr. says it’s either my Iron count or Menopause, I was so happy my prostate checked good.

At 3Pm today, it was 75, that’s as warm as it’s gonna get for a few months, I can feel it.

Tomorrow looks like it'll be a mess here. Actually, a lot of us in the Upper Midwest do seem to get a little lax by the time the first bad weather of the season hits, but we generally get up to speed real fast. One of the big problems up here now is people who think an SUV is somehow safer than other vehicles, and they tend to push them harder than they ought, especially on ice.

(My late F-I-L used to say, "Four wheel drive is great, but if you don't know what you are doing, it will just get you stuck fifty feet further into that snowdrift.")

By mid week here the high will barely reach 70. Time to get out are heavy winter coats. The low here will be near 48! We have a nice supply of snow on the mountains. That is where smart people keep their snow.

Down here in South Florida I was FREEZING a couple of hours ago but noticed that my air conditioner was set at 69 degrees so I reset it at 73 degrees so all is well now.

70 degrees here in the Sonoran Desert at 8:20 pm.
10 degrees west of Golden, Co.

THIS is reason I left Lakewood when I retired in 2002.
10 Freeking degrees Fahrenheit and snow.

Motorcycle weather in the desert, even though the roads ain’t got no curves, rivers ain’t got no water, We ain’t got no trees and the damn cactus is giving me the bird, I can still ride. Year round. Without long johns.
