WASHINGTON (AP) -- Voters who cast ballots in Tuesday's election had a strikingly similar demographic profile to those who voted in 2010 and weren't all that different from those voting in 2006. But how they voted this year was very different from years past.
Exit polls are generally a bad way to measure changes in turnout. In addition to the usual concerns about sampling error in any poll, exit polls could show additional bias on some traits, such as race or population density. That's because the sample of precincts where voters fill out the surveys are chosen based on geography. If this year's exit poll includes more precincts located in an area where a cluster of voters share characteristics, such as race or income, it might overestimate the size of that group. Estimates of characteristics that aren't clustered this way, such as gender, are not subject to this type of bias, because men and women live in all precincts.

Trayvon Martin, Knockout Game, Ferguson, Holder’s “My People”, and the list goes on. And on, and on, and on.
Any further questions?

Better title is “Majority of wage earners turned away from democrats.”

When the main Dem campaign strategy was ginning up racial hatred, why is anyone surprised by this?

I've been saying for a while that white voters are going to start voting more and more in lock step with one party (Republican) like other “minority” groups do with the democrat party as whites become a smaller percent of the overall population. This will mitigate the democrats predicted demographic advantage from increased minority (black/hispanic) voters, as by 2030 or so whites will be voting routinely 75%-80% Republican.

Americans are sick to death of this race hustling and want real CHANGE. I personally hope that Won in the White Hut gets nothing passed during the next two years, absolutely noting including budgets line item appropriations, and a debt ceiling raised. I realize my hope has a ZERO chance of succeeding with Bonehead and Turtlehead at the helm.

The rats are bleeding white voters as young people slip into a marijuana-coma. They lost every white laborer in Kentucky. Plus, the GOP made inroads with Jews, Hispanics, and Asians. Notably, they appeared to stem the recent losses among Cubans as Carlos Curbelo unseated Joe Garcia in Florida.
If they don’t screw up, keep on message, and perfect the turnout machine, 2016 will be a bad night for rats

You don’t think the constant “you are racist” drumbeat and Eric Holders white hate had anything to do with this do you?

Could we be seeing the beginning of the end of white guilt?
Outside of college campuses and other gummint institutions, that is...

Yep, and MizzMaryL down there in Louisiana was playing the race card until the last moment.
But lets be clear, many black people are tired of it too.

Of course the AP ignores the fact that the GOP improved its share of all ethnic groups, women, and all age groups — including blacks, where support rose to 21 percent, leaving Dems with only 79 percent instead of the 90 plus percent they usually get.. It was a GOP sweep across the full spectrum of voters.
