On an August day in New York City, Shoshana B. Roberts was harassed 108 times — by her definition.
The whole thing was caught on video by Hollaback, an anti-street harassment advocacy group, and edited into a two-minute public service announcement. Clad in jeans and a black T-shirt, Roberts walked around New York for 10 hours following filmmaker Rob Bliss, who had a camera hidden in his backpack.
One man says “Hello, good morning,” then follows Roberts for five minutes. Another says, “What’s up girl? How you doin?” When she doesn’t respond he reprimands her: “Somebody’s acknowledging you for being beautiful.”

It’s the same reason I ask Liberals why they lock their Front Doors. The typical Conservative that they hate with a passion won’t go in and rob them, but the typical Liberal that they love, who thinks exactly like them would.
Just for starters if a woman really wants to minimize such hassles she should draw her hair back. Put it up. Cover your shoulders too. But she will contend she has a right to dress as she pleases without the catcalls etc.

My girls would never have allowed the guy to pace them for 30 seconds, much less ten minutes.

An elderly British professor I had in school once told us of how his daughter returned from a trip to Italy complaining about the whistling, the pinching, and the catcalls.
“Then again...”he said in that marvelously wry British way of his....”if she had gone to Italy and NOT been pinched nor whistled at, I rather suspect she would have been quite disappointed!”
