"The Walking Dead is arguably at the top of its game. The AMC series’ recent season 5 premiere debuted to its highest ratings ever, and it’s already been renewed for a sixth season, to no one’s surprise.

However, the show’s continued success with audiences doesn’t appear to be keeping its showrunners from taking a few risks. In fact, by the sound of it, The Walking Dead could be headed for a game-changing twist this season." *Warning * This contains spoilers-speculation *

I see the cannibal aspect as further proof of the deterioration of mankind during a ZA, so it doesn’t really bother me. I mean, it’s been like 18-22 months since all this went down, right? There is no law and order and our group is certainly not the same as they were pre-ZA. How our characters walk a fine line between keeping as close to their previous selves or devolving into people like the Governer or The Claimers or Gareth and his merry band of Termites makes for fascinating viewing. I am very excited over the start of S5 and look fowrard to seeing how it plays out over the next oouple of episodes. Plenty of time to see if the writers will deliver or fail.

I will keep watching.

I like that we see more deterioration of buildings (although the food bank was extreme) and less mowed lawns. I live in Georgia, and if I let my property go one summer, it is a jungle. Give it 2 and I have small trees coming up in areas I haven’t mowed.

I know. Picky. Look past it. That is what my wife tells me. :-)

OK, how could the good guys be wallowing and submerging in zombie ridden poop water and not get sick?

Has anyone notice the bible verses from last week episode. Since the very beginning of TWD bibl verses are quietly implemented in scenes. I’m surprised they are letting that go through and liberals have yet to complain. I wonder if someone on the staff is a conservative.

Can’t wait to see tonight what happens to Bob and how Sasha will react. I bet that minister knows something about the Terminus group.

I am not 100% on the band wagon any more.

I'm also having some problems with it, though I don't want to spoil anyone's fun. And it was the Bob-Ka-Bob that had me sort of throwing up my hands, so to speak. It's sometimes seemed to be a gross-out contest, among the make up artists, and that's fine. But there's so many avenues this show could have gone down, with the CDC, although that's surely dated by now. People so desperate to survive, no awe for the fact that dead folks walkabout, no consideration of the uniformity of natural causes. Why do they walk about? Will that ever be explained?

I doubt it. Simple toxoplasmosis?

(Sigh.) You know I'll probably continue to watch it, regardless of the failure of my suspension of disbelief.

But does he get the last laugh, as he was bit (lower leg perhaps?) in the food pantry?

I don't think so nor do I think he was actually bitten. The cannibals led by whats his name are likely to be the main antagonists throughout this season just as the governor was last year......

think this season will be the story of Beth.

I don't think so, I think it will be what's his name who leads the cannibals, just like last year being about the governor.......

"There ain't always room for the tuba player..."........

I’m pretty sure the governor was only in the last 3 episodes last season.

No, you’re a viewer and have a right to be picky, so pick away :)

Heck, the first 8 episodes of last season I was pretty fed up with the molasses-like slowness of the episodes and might have given up watching had I just not been so attached to these characters. Their character arc is really what keeps me coming back (well, that and Andrew Lincoln shirtless...). It’s a fantastic ensemble cast and good writing. The walkers, cannibals, etc. are secondary to the main characters.

1. Zombies don't poop anymore

2. They weren't drinking the water

3. And most important of all, THERE AIN'T NO SUCH THING AS ZOMBIES!

Just go with the flow Jetson.......

Yes, I agree with you that there must be a conservative, religious writer or producer on this show. I’ve often felt like they dealt with spiritual matters in a respectful way.

That’s why he tasted better than they thought he would.

Incorrect. According to Frank Darabond, the reason Bob tastes better than everyone thought is because Bob has been marinaded in expensive whiskey for years.

they move, struggle to survive, meet new group of survivors, fight over something, then the survivors join together again.

Isn’t that how it usually goes?

I really like Eugene.

He doesn’t say a lot but when he does its usually unintentionally funny.

IIRC, I read a few weeks ago that Season 6 had already been approved.

With rating like they are getting, there is no reason to kill off the golden goose.

I’m watching last week’s episode.

I agree with Rick about the Termites. “They don’t get to live”.
