"Listen," said Lennox, "Twerking is not feminism. Thats what I'm referring to. It's not -- it's not liberating, it's not empowering. It's a sexual thing that you're doing on a stage; it doesn't empower you. That's my feeling about it."

It might not be feminism, but it is representative of what feminists will do for Democrat males to get free abortions and birth control pills.

Annie - the sexual revolution didn’t free women, either - it freed men.
Sweet dreams, honey!

That was my point. Being given more opportunities for sin was not a “win” for men, any more than it was for women.

Lennox is a far leftist, she must have been hallucinating.
To: vetvetdoug
Maybe her economic beliefs are Leftist, but at least in this case she is right.

What? Masturbating on stage with a foam finger does not empower women?
Someone should tell Miley

Lennox may very well be a liberal, but after reading the article, I am not sure. I do know she has walked the walk when it comes to her beliefs and dedication to causes she believes in. She is my favorite artist, no one can sing like her.

She may have been right in this instance, but it seems her hypocrisy is evident to those who watched her rise to stardom:
Ms. Lennox used a mixture of androgynous style and overt feminine sexuality when it suited her.

There’s no comparison to that and what Miley does, not even close.

I’ve heard that the sexual revolution and abortion combined, have not empowered women,,but have empowered men.
Reason being, men feel that they can push for sexual intimacy without fear of consequences anymore. With abortion available as a back up in case of birth control failure, men pressure females about sex.
Yes I know this has always gone on, but in times past, men would be afraid of getting a girl pregnant. Nobody thinks about those issues that way nowadays. No men fear a shotgun wedding is in their future if something happens.
And having seen the cultural shift in which matters of sex are thought of as physical urges rather than having any moral context, you end up with more sex, more VD, more pregnancy, more abortion, and more single mothers.
