I’ve heard that the sexual revolution and abortion combined, have not empowered women,,but have empowered men.
Reason being, men feel that they can push for sexual intimacy without fear of consequences anymore. With abortion available as a back up in case of birth control failure, men pressure females about sex.
Yes I know this has always gone on, but in times past, men would be afraid of getting a girl pregnant. Nobody thinks about those issues that way nowadays. No men fear a shotgun wedding is in their future if something happens.
And having seen the cultural shift in which matters of sex are thought of as physical urges rather than having any moral context, you end up with more sex, more VD, more pregnancy, more abortion, and more single mothers.
Lefties just can’t seem to see that a lifestyle that follows God’s Laws
just coincidentally has fewer negative consequences.
It must just baffle them.
The courts just haven't caught up yet on the issue of support. But it very well may...
Someone knew...
Responsible men can become more deeply convinced of the truth of the doctrine laid down by the Church on this issue if they reflect on the consequences of methods and plans for artificial birth control. Let them first consider how easily this course of action could open wide the way for marital infidelity and a general lowering of moral standards. Not much experience is needed to be fully aware of human weakness and to understand that human beingsand especially the young, who are so exposed to temptationneed incentives to keep the moral law, and it is an evil thing to make it easy for them to break that law. Another effect that gives cause for alarm is that a man who grows accustomed to the use of contraceptive methods may forget the reverence due to a woman, and, disregarding her physical and emotional equilibrium, reduce her to being a mere instrument for the satisfaction of his own desires, no longer considering her as his partner whom he should surround with care and affection.Humanae Vitae (1968)
