Brace yourself. The 2016 Republican field is going to be HUGE.

Even though this poll isn't predictive, it is telling.  Two of the top three candidates -- Bush and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee -- are, at best, 50-50 shots at running. (Bush is entirely unreadable; Huckabee seems smart enough to understand that he had his presidential moment in 2008.) The only other person pulling double digits is Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul, a status due, at least in part, to voters' familiarity with his last name because of his father's two presidential bids in 2008 and 2012.

Exactly! BTTT Bump! They will try to split conservative vote with the predictable stalking horses for the rinos...namely Huckabee and Santorum, but there will be others. We can not afford to fall for the Rovian trick again folks. Vote Cruz! He was awesome on Crowley’s show yesterday’. He is looking more presidential by the day and on top of his game. Crowley showed visible frustration that she could not trap him with lib talking point stupidity..lol

At this point in the last cycle my money was on Tim Pawlenty to be the nominee. Precisely because he was
a colorless RINO.

Agreed.

It’s Cruz or lose in 2016!

Now is the time to get behind him.

We must coalesce around the ONE likely CONSERVATIVE nominee early, and let the RINOs split THEIR votes.

I recommend Cruz because he’s straight conservative on all issues of which I’m aware, and sells conservatism well.

---------

Bears repeating. NO SPLIT OF CONSERVATIVE VOTE!!!! CRUZ 2016!

Anyone know or care to speculate why Allen West is not on the list? I do not have a clue.

I’m in. It’s Cruz or lose for sure. Now all of us who used to send money to the Republican Party, send it directly to Cruz instead, we could make sure he has the funds

“Anyone know or care to speculate why Allen West is not on the list? I do not have a clue.”

So while he does “pack the gear” to serve as President of the United States of America — The media is scared to death of having to cover a real man. Hell most of the media girly men would wet themselves if he ever raised his voice in their general direction.

He is exactly who this country needs at this moment in time — Certainly our enemy’s would know that “things have changed” and that the US would have an American loving Patriot at the helm, but, he may be too much for people that have never lived that kind of life.

No, this nation is full of way too many pajama boys to ever see a real man like Allen West elected president.

Precisely one name on the list - Rand Paul - can potentially appeal to enough young, white voters to peel them away from the "Strong! Smart! Capable! First Female President!". Even for him it would be an uphill struggle.

Other than that, every single name on the list lacks the credibility on liberty issues to overcome the Left's complete takeover of the culture. See Mark Steyn's latest column for a full explanation of why. If the GOP doesn't play a totally different hand this time, they are done as a force in US politics.

Honestly, Jeb Bush would do better than all of the others listed due to name recognition, though that very name recognition would also be a strong motivator for the opposition.

Cruz reflects everything this site is about. I cannot see a sincere conservative opposing him for any reason.

That being the case I do not expect the same kinds of silly internecine fights on this board in 2016 as we've had in the past.

Getting together on Cruz early would also be a great way to flush out the phonies we all know like to haunt this site.

As usual conservatives must ride in the back of the bus. Cruz is in the media regularly yet these polls consistently show he is invisible.

Way back in the late 80s the MSM & political parties vowed to never allow another populist candidate to go directly to the voter over their heads again.

Well, that means that the conservative vote will be divided and a GOP-E pick will win the nomination. So our choices will be “Democrat” or “Democrat Lite.”
