I guarantee that the Obama admin and dems are already plotting how they could use this to take over hospitals and effect more control over the population. They won’t stop people from coming over here so we will be forced to pay for their incompetence

And maybe we will all be forced to take an obola “vaccine” or else be taken in for our own protection.

But the weak economies of the fledgling democracies of West Africa will be saved!

The big shut down is coming.

My usual dry, ironic sense of humor to the side, widespread panic would probably be much more costly than most people realize.

Right up front the question is who will take care of the kids once the schools are closed?

Harry Reid, Jackson-Lee, Chuck Schumer, all would be wearing disguises and running away from TV cameras for the first time in their lives.

If I worked for an airline and they wanted me to fly in and out of west Africa, they would be looking for my replacement. No way I would want to put my family and friends in danger.

I’d tell them to see if they could get that sorry azz Obama to do the job.

The worse case scenario is if/when Ebola breaks out in some Central American hell hole and rapidly spreads out of control, with a subsequent surge of the infected for the open southern U.S. border that Obama has mandated. With hundreds or even thousands of Ebola-infected Central Americans melting invisibly into the U.S. we’ve then entered “The Stand” phase for our country.

If/when you see Ebola in Central American then that’s the signal to start prepping if you haven’t already.

There are several dangerous disease outbreaks in South America already cooking and most likely headed our way. Ebola will be along shortly after that - no doubt.

...would be like a bad science fiction movie...

Sound more like a good science-fiction movie. Or a good political thriller: Marxist Muslim moves into White House. Population has grown too stupid and evil to notice.

If this happens, new grounds for impeachment:

Before this story broke, there were already ample grounds. But you need two thirds of the Senate to remove him.

....Belmopan. October 16, 2014. The Government of Belize was contacted today by officers of the U.S. Government and made aware of a cruise ship passenger considered of very low risk for Ebola. The passenger had voluntarily entered quarantine on board the ship and remains free of any fever or other symptoms of illness. The Ebola virus may only be spread by patients who are experiencing fever and symptoms of illness and so the US Government had emphasized the very low risk category in this case. Nonetheless, out of an abundance of caution, the Government of Belize decided not to facilitate a U.S. request for assistance in evacuating the passenger through the Phillip Goldson International Airport.

The GOB reassures the public that the passenger never set foot in Belize and while we remain in close contact with US officials we have maintained the position that when even the smallest doubt remains, we will ensure the health and safety of the Belizean people. The Prime Minister has called a press conference tomorrow morning to further address any concerns that may arise from this event....

I find that reassuring that people are taking their own action instead of being idiotic enough to ignore what is going on and waiting for the government to walk over and handle it all for them.

I really hope that it is not a nurse that was at Duncan’s hospital. I mean - what nurse would go on a cruise ship with the possibility that she might have Ebola? /s

In the very early threads people were saying that we in the U.S. will be able to stop the spread of Ebola better than in Africa. I hope they are correct, but I disagree.

We are MUCH more mobile, and I think that our hubris(?) will get in the way.

“My project at work (or my wedding/cruise, etc.) is SO important. And I’m pretty sure my feeling off a bit is just nerves about getting on the plane/ship, etc.”

But I was thinking in those terms for just everyday people. I really had wished that the doctors/nurses that have dealt with infections and stuff before would know better. I guess not - and that is REALLY disappointing.
