Thomas Eric Duncan should be indicted for premeditated murder, tried and executed. News sources now say this man carried an Ebola-infected relative to and from the hospital (no treatment available for her - sympathy there). He had to know he had been exposed to Ebola and in all likelihood was going to be infected. Yet, he deliberately came to the U.S. to visit relatives, went to the doctor and still did not tell the medical staff there about his exposure and then ended up in the ER around many other people and was diagnosed.
This man is not innocent in this matter. It appears that knowing he was going to be infected and with proper documents and means to get to the U.S. where he could get better treatment, he exposed untold numbers of innocent people to a deadly disease which will probably end up killing many of them and others who try to treat them. He is guilty of premeditated murder to try and save his own life.
Probably not. Something has to be done immediately to stop travel to and from countries or ANY place where this disease is taking place. Failure to do so is governmental irresponsibility.
So—a guy who gets sick, does the right thing and goes to the hospital and informs them of his travel history (even though the hospital did not respond appropriately) is now a would-be murderer who should be executed?
I do not know of a time in our country when people were ever executed for contracting an illness. I should hope never to see such a time.
A newspaper reported that 6 people who had contact with him has died. Do not know where they got that info. We may never know the whole truth.
getting sick is a death penalty offense ?

He may just have been desperate. The woman he tried to help in Africa was doomed because there was no room at the hospital and she was turned away. He knew that if he became infected, his best chance for survival was in a US hospital. (Funny, that. To hear Michael Moore talk you’d figure he’d head for Cuba or Venezuela.)
When he became symptomatic he went to the hospital and told them his travel history. But Obama said Ebola wouldn’t come here, so the index of suspicion was zero.
Joseph Curseen, who worked at the Brentwood postal facility where anthrax was known to have been found, got sick and went to the hospital. He told them he was afraid he had anthrax. They sent him home.
He came back several hours later but by that time the infection was too far advanced and he died.
The index of suspicion is everything in grabbing these infectious disease cases early. This would be a brush fire epidemic if this was a more contagious virus.
For knowing he was sick with a killer disease and deliberately exposing other people. He knew what was wrong with that woman he was with and later died. He had to know what he was doing.
still did not tell the medical staff there about his exposure and then ended up in the ER around many other people and was diagnosed.
THIS!
How about those in charge who intentionally fail to protect our borders and instead aid and abet those entering illegally? Or refuse to order the airlines to suspend all flights from Africa into the U.S as an obvious precautionary measure?
Has this not become a criminal matter directly involving those in government?
A pretty relevant point is whether his travel plans had been made and ticket purchased prior to the exposure incident.
Some people get it. Liberals will not get it. Therefore, they die from stupidity.
Exactly.
Yes, I get that, but at what point to end executing people with a terminal disease?
Stop treating him and let it happen that way. Isolate him and leave him to die. He is going to probably cause others whom he exposed to die.
He must have been in a state of denial, given he didn't push back when, on his first visit to a US ER, he got sent home with an antibiotic prescription and pain medicine. He told them he was visiting from Liberia. They didn't get the hint. Why no "Hey doc! I handled an Ebola patient nine days ago!"? He must have convinced himself he wasn't in danger, confirmed by the ER doc's lack of concern.
The question is, how many people on the banks of the Potomac have committed treason?

ABC reports that he called a relative in NC (us) and prayed with them. I may have missed it but the article didn’t say; if so, it was sloppy reporting or on purpose.
Haven't said anything yet but I don't trust what we are being told. It's just my hunch call it but I believe it can be spread as soon as the virus has incubated and mature which I think is way before symptoms appear.
Also I believe that it can be transmitted by air. Theoretically unless it's killed, the damn stuff can spread in the wind like corn pollen. In rare instances it can be blown for 100's of miles.
Do I need to post this? Not really but I don't trust the govt on this at all. But things do happen apart from any govt or organization. Like the guy just wanted to get to America because he had heard that people who were brought here were recovering. Selfish though to expose so many already even if he did tell them the first time at the hospital that he came from Liberia.
